+2 Shield, Very Rare (Requires attunement)

This remarkably heavy tower shield is crafted to resemble a thick steel door that has been reinforced and is set into a solid wood and steel frame. The door itself is always locked tight with a complex tumbler lock that is difficult to pick. The steel of the door seems treated and enchanted to withstand even the toughest batterings that could be dealt to it. While holding this Shield, you have a +2 bonus to Armor Class in addition to the Shield’s normal bonus to AC.

Once per day while you are attuned to this shield, you can slam it into the ground as an action causing stone and reinforcing steel to grow from it forming an 80 foot wide, 40 foot high, 5 foot thick wall around the door. The wall grows in each direction until it reaches a solid object like a wall or ceiling, and then stops. The wall and door gain resistance to all damage types and have an AC and HP equal to your own. The door itself can be picked with a successful DC 20 Dexterity check using thieves tools. The wall remains in place for 1 hour, until the door is opened or the wall is destroyed, or until you use an action to pick up the door. If the wall is destroyed, it drops to an empty space near it, becoming a regular +2 shield and losing its ability to create a wall. If it is picked up, it simply returns to your arm and the wall crumbles away. This ability resets daily at dawn.

Maybe some skill feats unlock automagically (eg. if you're an expert, you can do this action) & some require a feat (eg. anything that grants an edge in battle). Then drop the free skill feats and make players give up a general to take the GOOD GOOD?

I dunno I'm not @paizo.com but I do love them ❤️

While I love the concept of skill feats as they give both players & DMs ideas on how skills can be used and *put it on the character sheet as a reminder*... There's just too deep a chasm between the mild and spicy, if you will.

Like being able to heal multiple allies in a rest? I feel like an Expert in medicine should do that by default. Non-magically healing a bro MID COMBAT as you're dodging attacks and they're dodging attacks? Why is that the same cost as "I can treat two people in ten minutes"?

I feel like skill feats in #Pathfinder2e could really use a redesign.

There's some feats where I'd say the person should just... be able to do that as a trained/expert/etc person and some feats that are legitimately strong enough to require a cost-of-opportunity (eg. feat selection).

Love dawnsbury. I've got 100% of the steam achievements! 😁 Sure the visuals/production value isn't BG3 level but the combats are genuinely way more interesting!

AMEN to that! I'm a day 1 backer! 😁

Yeah that mod is brilliant! I really hope its successful, overall.

But I want first party support, not mods. I wish more games would go outside of 5e, because what makes 5e popular for a tabletop (eg. easy to pick up rules, light character building) don't make a good videogame

Oh rogues can sneak attack? Well then they get less attacks to make sure they're dealing about the same damage as everyone else.

I hate that "buff one thing but nerf another" mentality.

To be fully frank the fact that 5e limits how often a barbarian can rage when THATS THEIR WHOLE FUCKING IDENTITY AS A CLASS is hilarious and an indication of a core problem:

5e balances the classes by having every benefit have a drawback.

Now #Pathfinder2e can be more complex. Leveling takes more time as you have more options to choose from. Sure that's more "homework" for players. But who cares about that on a videogame where you get to choose the pace?

And tbh it's nice to just have a system where martials don't feel ass.

NGL #dnd5e is a great system for tables that want thin character building or more casual gameplay, but translated to videogames it falls short.

It's an albatross around BG3. Spending 3 levels to get your class' core abilities sucks.

More games should use #Pathfinder2e, it doesn't have this problem

If you liked Nye in the 90's, I recommend you save this and watch when you have the time (his videos can be longer, but dense with good info & production quality)

Something I like to do while writing campaigns is to offer different sides to align with, or choices to make, and then give rewards based on which they went with. I know that seems so basic but it really helps make decisions feel meaningful when the rewards remind their path.

- Shark Head, Wolf Body

Also "Hey can I see your initial sketch?" getting met with "I don't do that" just red flags for miles

I just want to support actual talent and get good art in return WHY HAS MODERN SOCIETY MADE THIS IMPOSSIBLE lol

The last image I got was so laughably bad. Like the perspective was off so bad that the left arm was 50% smaller than the right but lead to a hand that was like 20% bigger than the right?

As positive aside; I also got in contact with the guy who drew my book covers ( kitsunekei1 ) and was so happy that some of my old contacts from 4 years ago are still active.

The battle against AI fraudsters can only be won with people you trust at your side

I hate AI.Beyond the obvious reasons; I've had THREE commissions this month fail because the artist tried to pass off something that was clearly AI as hand-drawn.

Was always hard to find exactly the style I want; good luck finding *reputable*

Special circle of hell for those who lie about art.

I really like this! Part of what made me prefer pathfinder 2e to dnd 5e was the 4 degrees of success making roll results cooked into the game and not on the DM to improvise.

Gonna check this system out for sure!

I would literally pay the price of the whole game again just to have a dark mode (eg. black instead of green menus & black chats) in dawnsbury days #Pathfinder2e @dawnsbury.bsky.social

Tbh? I think wotc realized that the easiest way to give the players what they want is to hand them a blank page and tell them to fill in the blank with whatever they want.

But "I got my powers from a God Shard that made me a demigod"? GOOD. At least it TOUCHES the world building at somepoint! lol

3.5 / prior & PF2e all required Champion / Paladins to have *some* deity that you serve to gain your powers

5e was like "lol who wants to engage with the lore or READ lets just let everyone make up their own god or have none and get their power from the *strength of their Oath*" which is... bad.
