This is what America looked like before the EPA cleaned it up A snapshot from America before the impact of the EPA and the effects of rules regulating clean water and air were felt.

It's not just fdr. One of the things the epa did not long after it was formed was document the nation's pollution via photography. That can seem frivolous, but generations of Americans have no idea why the EPA was necessary. This broke a million views when we published it in 2017

This is especially gutting for the women who tried to play by the rules, take drugs they didn't want or need to lower their naturally occurring T, train hard to come back, and are once again being kicked to the curb.

I have been all over this world. And across it, there are the ruins of empires that thought they would last forever.

Why does a ball drop on New Year’s Eve? The ball drop is based on a system that once helped ships set their clocks—and navigate—in the 1800s.

Why do we watch *a ball drop* on New Year's Eve?

In a word? Longitude. 🌐

The Times Square Ball has its ultimate origins in a system that helped ships set their clocks to aid their navigation.

Come for the history. Stay for the musings on tradition and time. mashedradish.com/2024/12/31/t...

Last night I had to explain the “Grink” tweet to Jessie and it felt so frustratingly humiliating.

NBA moving '17 All-Star Game from Charlotte The NBA is moving the All-Star Game in light of North Carolina's controversial HB2 bill, saying it hopes to reschedule the game for Charlotte in 2019.

In 2017, the NBA pulled the All Star game out of North Carolina to protest a bathroom bill. I'll be curious to see if they have anything to say about today's bills. I don't follow NBA shit closely enough to really have a guess on this, but it does feel like a signal.

In short: the obsession with who counts as a woman in sports is nearly 100 years old. It's gone through many phases, each one claiming to care about "protecting women" and "fairness" and (later) "science." There's no evidence that these policies actually succeed at any of those things.

TESTED – A surprising history of women’s sports

It sucks that my show continues to be so relevant as the worst people on the internet double down on their weird obsession with people's chromosomes and genitals, but if you're wondering "what the hell is JK Rowling on about this time????" sadly I have a podcast for you: www.tested-podcast.com
