Yes, Cranky and Wrinkly still raised this Donkey Kong, no matter where you fall on the Jr. debate. The important thing is you pretend DK is tossing around Wrinkly’s coffin.

“HEY DAD YOU WANNA SEE MOM’S NEW SARCOPHAGUS?”
Having trouble getting all the rewards from this week's Donkey Kong Bananza Emerald Rush event, Unyielding Strength? See how the Idaho Crew (eventually) did it, earning enough emeralds for Void to erect the Wrinkly and Tiny Kong statues!
Yes, I typed "erect" in the same sentence as Wrinkly. 🤤
Lean into never getting Bananza powers. That's the Perk that has the juice. That, never building your health, always staying at full health, and beating up Crockoids got me over the line.
Since you only get one Warp Barrel, I also did some Turf Groove (while activating Surf Surf)
It's been one year since Donkey Kong Bananza was revealed.
No game in my life has taken me on a more thrilling and personally rewarding journey from reveal to release and beyond.
It truly changed my life for the better in countless ways and continues to do so.
Nostalgia is eating itself so fast that I’m wistfully reminiscing about the days of Odd Rock, Gnawty Fossils, and ACM rendered palm trees, i.e. the first week of April 2025.
"Well, he was chasing 'a banana bandit' that he was already familiar with. It could just be a reference to the vaguely impish head of the VoidCo trio, but it could also imply a returning villain. Yeah. You know what I'm getting at."
I was so young then.
Those first few days following the abridged Hype Cycle were a whirlwind. The fears that Bananza was another complete reinvention of the series were mostly calmed when we learned that Cranky was in the game, but we still had no idea of the full extent to which it was a celebration of all things DK!

It was one year ago today that Donkey Kong Bananza was officially announced! Following the game's existence for the better part of a decade, the reveal was extremely cathartic. Little did I know how hard it would wind up hitting, with it nearly dethroning Donkey Kong Country 2 as my favorite game!
Tiny really got off light in the rap considering the character assassination some of the others endured.

Disgusting unfashionable uggo face
Horny monkey returnee, finally

Banjo fans! I've recently been pondering (🤔) how Banjo-Tooie has a lot of score-based minigames centered around targets, hoops, etc. that are red, blue or green.
Do you have colour vision deficiency? Were these minigames particularly hard for you, or were other clues enough to get by? Let me know!
Oh, I'm not so depraved as to actually have a glowing screen out in a theater setting! I'm a Donkey Kong degenerate, but that doesn't mean we're uncouth.
Does Donkey Kong make an appearance in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie? Obviously this will mean Kong-centric spoilers either way, so only click on the link below if you want to know the answer!
I miss my Wrinkly Kong statue back home. 😢
In my theater seat. It’s cold and dark and there are no DKU games here.
I'll send you one later today!
Oh, sorry. It says right there it's April Fools' Day. What I meant to say was, the Nintendo Today! team is COWARDLY for not animating a vernix-drenched Kiddy chomping down on the severed body part of his conquered foe. Boycott Nintendo.
Today's special spring animation for the Nintendo Today! Donkey Kong theme.
I would have gone with Banana Birds hatching or a dewy Kiddy Kong nibbling on the melted Bleak's carrot, but I understand it was probably easier to work with preexisting Bananza assets.
The Wii U was business on the streets while Virtual Boy is a party in the sheets.
That feeling when you finally drag your last statue to the intended position, hit the wrong button, and knock every statue in the sea.
The key art to the Kongversation's "The Fall and Rise of Virtual Boy" episode. The Kongversation Season 14 episode template has been redone in full red and black, with an image of Donkey Kong Sr and Jr. (from Mario Clash) giving a thumbs-up in outer space. Space Puck (from Galactic Pinball) soars behind them.
We discuss DK Vine's perverse fascination with Virtual Boy on an all-new #Kongversation! @davidtlynch.bsky.social and I make the case that Virtual Boy is Nintendo's most misunderstood failure. Plus, we compare the experience of playing it on Switch with the original!

Having trouble unlocking the Wrinkly and Tiny Kong statues in the new Emerald Rush event? Join the Idaho Crew at 8 PM EDT/5 PM PDT as they swing around DK Island (and through VoidCo baddies), showing you their preferred route to honor Cranky's dead wife and Dixie's tall sister!

It took me a few attempts, but Wrinkly and Tiny are now haunting the DK Isles once more.
I love how they positioned Tiny with her Donkey Kong 64 Kongpatriots, but slightly in the back. This makes her appear smaller, as she was when she adventured with Lanky and Chunky. The best of both worlds!
I mean, it COULD be Kiddy, given that it would then account for the playable Kongs (not counting Funky graduating in New Funky Mode).
Likewise, they could put Funky there and slot Candy next to Wrinkly.
Yeah, I'm passing on the limited 64 edition variant on the Funstock store, simply because this isn't a "must-have" purchase for me like the Super Pocket Rare Edition. At the very least, I can play the Double Pack on my EXP or Super Pocket.
