there's nothing like that pressure to update to sap all the creative juices from your brain, is there? honestly i'm in awe of writers like you who were ever able to update weekly, with such high quality too. i reckon be kind to yourself and do whatever you need to do to get writing again

Tonight I saw 'Dracula: Mina's Reckoning' an AMAZING feminist, queer, Scottish retelling. Told from the perspective of Mina, who chooses her own vampiric fate, kills Dracula and offers others freedom from Victorian psychiatric treatment. Contemporary gothic exploration of mental health and deviance.

I still write like: "Eve did this. She thought that. And here's how it felt in her body. And look, here's a metaphor!"
So clunky.
It's amazing when a writer lets the barriers between all those things disintegrate and lets character just permeate it all - messy and real.

and you do it insanely well. The whole worldview of the character as a way to express what's going on in their head - what they notice and how they notice it.

characters' internal monologue is something i struggle to get right. Not sure if that's because i can't pay enough attention to the jumble in my head or what. Perhaps because if you don't know how *you* think, how can you figure out how someone else thinks?
