Definitely a good session. Glad we could make it!

I had no idea. Thanks for sharing!
Who had to master this iteration of the "autogrid"? I miss how quickly I could move grids in and out of the column but that's about it. I also got lucky and never dropped one inside the scope.
Good luck!
Sorry to hear that Mark. That was a long time to have such a friend.
Back to the tiny MT thing, huh? Very cool work! Congrats!
Nice work!
In 1968, my dad's high school physics teacher helped their class build a crude electron microscope. In this photo you can see the increased resolution between the optical and electron image. I found this while sifting through his things and wanted to share.
Hey Matthijn! Welcome! Good to see you here. It's been a while since we crossed paths.
The stars have aligned!
Your logo is much cooler than ours, by the way.
No :)
What did you mill into? I'd like to do something similar with our Penn State logo!
Congrats on the milestone and the solid dessert choice.
Thanks for doing this important work! We just got our Hydra and HPF last week so it's especially relevant to us. We'll do a deep dive soon.
Nice work!
The mill was mostly piloted by the talented Frances Allen. I don't want to take too much credit :)
Me at Berkeley in 2014, milling on one of the first cryo-FIBs built, which was purchased from the Wadsworth Center in NY. The transfer system and stage were built by Humming Bird. We didn't use any platinum. I drove the lamellae back to Caltech and a few survived. It was wild times!
That's going to look awesome in the scope room!
Thanks! We got our first neuronal lamella into the Krios today and are collecting tilt series now.
We can probably work something out. We've barely accessed it ourselves so it will take some time for us to start training new users. If they are already experts then it could be a different story.
Absolutely! And the high-pressure freezer will be installed tomorrow. It's kind of a dream come true.
If anyone has anything they want to mill into with us, please reach out.
Our Hydra Bio is up and running at Penn State College of Medicine! We want to thank @thermofishersci.bsky.social for all their help. Installation went smoothly and we're grateful to be working with your applications team, learning how best to use it. It's a beautiful instrument.
