I was just thinking about you, as I am reading "The Sciences of the Artificial" by Herbert Simon and he mentions Bayesian decision analysis. And your post popped up! I will leave it to you to calculate the probabilities.
In May 2024 a Yellow-crowned Night Heron was discovered in western Ireland village of Belcarra, 1000s of stormy transatlantic 🌊 miles from its American home.
Named Lorrie in honour of its local discoverer, Lorraine Ryan-Jennings, it inspired tourists, art and poetry 1/3 🧵
Glad you remember it!

McGonagall realised if he were to succeed as a poet, he required a patron and wrote to Queen Victoria. He received a letter of rejection, written by a royal functionary, thanking him for his interest.[10]: vii McGonagall took this as praise for his work.
McGonagall's life is ripe to be made into a slapstick comedy
Whilst working at the loom, McGonagall would entertain his shopmates with recitations from Shakespeare. On one occasion they paid a local theatre owner to allow him to appear in the title role in a production of Macbeth. Convinced that the actor playing Macduff was envious of him, McGonagall refused to die in the final act.
Just reading about the incredible things William McGonagall got up to
This is why I listen to music with no discernible tune.
Two guards stand either side of the door. One likes big butts and cannot lie. One likes big butts and cannot tell the truth.
For those joining Bluesky from the Bad Place: welcome.
Yes, you could/should have made the decision sooner, but it is never too late to make a good decision.
And there is a lot on this site which will remind you of the Bad Place before it was bad.
The image is a meme styled like a framed painting of the philosopher René Descartes, with his long dark hair and clothing visible but the central part of his face blurred out. At the top, in bold black letters on a white background, the text reads: “Descartes when he realized that people who don`t think also exist.”
