179. Ms. Kerkhoff read Defendants’ November 8 Article in disbelief. Like on January
6, she immediately snapped into crisis response mode.
180. Ms. Kerkhoff had already retained a personal data removal service provider to scan
and remove private information from data brokers and “people search” sites in preparation for
Trump pardoning the January 6 defendants. She now called immediate family members and
pleaded with them to do the same. She even retained and paid-for the same personal data removal
service provider for her entire immediate family.
181. Ms. Kerkhoff and Mr. Dickert drove to the grocery store and bought a trunk-load
of frozen food. Then, fearful for their safety, they rarely left the house for two weeks. Every time
they did, they were followed. They did not know by whom: investigators, reporters, or people
who believed Defendants’ false claims and intended to harm them.
182. Ms. Kerkhoff received an enormous, unwanted amount of attention from
reporters. Some found her name on Venmo and attempted to send her $1 so they could “connect,”
enabling them to send her direct messages. Ms. Kerkhoff was forced to disguise her identity on
Venmo and to lock down her profile from public searches. Others reached out to her through
Signal. She deleted that app entirely. Ms. Kerkhoff once saw a mysterious man walk up to her
front door. He turned out to be a reporter for the Daily Wire. On a Friday night, Blaze Media’s
editor-in-chief Christopher Bedford visited her home in Alexandria, Virginia; Blaze Media later
reported that he was “pulled over by local police after stopping to observe” it.

Here's what happened after a conservative website suggested that an officer who testified in Jan. 6 cases was the pipe bomber:

Haha, someone posted here that "surveilling protesters is a violation of their 1A rights" and when I pointed out that is objectively false and tagged @badlegaltakes.bsky.social they blocked me.

Inside the Third No Kings Protest in Dallas | March 2026 - D Magazine A brief dustup with counter-protestors was quickly contained, and the march continued downtown with no other incidents.

Sure. Lots of examples, but recently Proud Boy counter-protesters tried to block a No Kings march in Dallas but were quickly stopped by the police, and one who attacked someone was arrested. Protest proceeded peacefully afterwards.

Yes, this scenario you just made up which has no relation to the actual topic of observing protests in public spaces would be bad because you generally have a reasonable expectation of privacy in your home.

"Surveilling protesters is a violation of their 1A rights."

That is objectively false. Observing protesters in a public space where they have no reasonable expectation of privacy is quite legal.

All that other stuff is certainly bad but isn't what I'm talking about.

I don't think comparing observing a protest to La Terreur is super rational.

What's the difference between "spy" and "watch"?

Law Enforcement has a legitimate interest in monitoring protests since they can turn bad. If a uniformed presence is seen as agitating, a distant camera seems like a good option. If no one had their rights violated, seems ok.

Reupping this since articles of impeachment are out against Hegseth.

A reminder that US logistics are or used to be the envy of the world. In WWII we had a ship which had the purpose of manufacturing ice cream for the Pacific fleet, in theater.

I mean there's the whole sexual abuse cover up within the church but I doubt that's what they're referring to. Also wasn't on this Pope's watch, so.

In a first, renewables beat natural gas on US grid last month It’s just one month, but it’s a sign of where the U.S. is headed as renewable energy — namely solar — surges onto the grid.

A milestone in March: for the first time ever, renewables provided more power on the US grid than natural gas.

My favorite Redfin feature is where they tell you if the house you're looking at is actually a horse. Could be a reverse-Trojan scenario I guess.

Ladies, if you're in your 20s or 30s and exist on the material plane then you need to address that as soon as possible. People shouldn't perceive your physical form, you hag.

Astral projection reduces visible wrinkles by replacing opacity with translucence.

I get periodic notifications from Valparaiso University that people are still downloading my interview with Elizabeth Gingerich with the Journal of Values-based Leadership. It’s one of my better ones; take a look if you’d like.
