If you are able to help support our site migration that would be amazing! I am very bad at asking for help but right now, @butwhytho.net needs it.
We have to get set up on a new host, work with a dev, and our old host still has not refunded us the $3k they took.
Anything helps!

Fortuna was too tired to even notice there were carrots available this #Caturday.
A massive thank you to @toiya.bsky.social for the invite!
When I started getting into games, there were a lot of resources I wish were available. Finding out that our panel is available for free in the GDC Vault is rewarding in many ways.
I had a great time, with a talented lineup of panelists💗
It took a lot of trial and error to find terms and a cadence that worked for me as a part-time.
I'm super excited to be speaking alongside @annacwebs.bsky.social, Alina, Drew and Kindra!
If you'd like to support other freelancers, and our event, please share and spread the word ✨🫶
The panel I was on ended up as one of the free videos on the #GDC Vault. Lots of solid advice from @toiya.bsky.social, @nessathewriter.bsky.social, @ashleyruhl.bsky.social, @asaraviapt.bsky.social. Check it out here:

Cooking Mama also doesn't have aunties per se, it's more about the ✨energy✨
But have we considered Venba to be an auntie game?

Forgot about portfolio day but I'm available for Narrative Design, Writing and Consulting Work!!!
a poster for the game workers conference, taking place on may 22-23. in the bottom-left corner, a red stream of game tools & iconography emanate from a sun composed of abstract shapes. it's nestled, slightly askew inside another poster for a boshi's place watch party for the conference. boshi's face at the bottom left overlaps the conference poster slightly, with small illustrated decorations in pure blue scattered around the rest of the frame.
we're hosting a watch party for @gameworkerscon.bsky.social may 22-23! it's a free, online conference by & for workers organized by @videogameworkers.bsky.social.
please use the qr code to rsvp! there will be snacks, swag, park hangs during breaks, & we can learn how to build worker power together.
Several US/Canada Remote roles across many disciplines available at Ares Interactive: aresinteractive.com/careers/
genuinely, I would not be putting in as much work as I do if it weren't for the fact that every team values their collaborators, give space for other communities & champions for inclusivity.
far too often I see studios that talk about inclusivity, but rarely practice it—and their hiring Shows It.
—who often have either A) not been listened to in previous studios or B) were forced to adapt to a bro culture that is rampant in this industry.
it feels so nice working in safe spaces with people who GET it, and makes so much difference.
something that I appreciate of the people I work with is an understanding of the different dynamics this can present.
there's a difference between men in the industry "settling" for a pleasant environment, versus team members actively looking for the input of other collaborators—
if you are a man in a leadership position in games you need to actively think about &work towards a healthier culture at your studio for women and POC. you DO need to be thinking about it. you CANT just assume because you're a good person or a girl dad or whatever that it's enough. it's not enough.
did you kiss the brick of truth before throwing it our way
The way I started looking into a 9-5 government gig after filing... Games is so fun, but running off of 1099s is painful
Atuel is now playable in Korean! 🙌✨
Thanks to our amazing translator, @kyleheren.bsky.social, and @iamsunpark.bsky.social's team at Out of Index, Atuel is now available in Korean on itchio, Steam, and Google Play! 🎉💪
This marks Atuel's 10th playable language! 👏🎏
happy #PortfolioDay!
i've been writing in games for about 7+ years across. right now, I'm working on...
- a deckbuilding wrestling game & mecha game @ FBG
- a simulation/puzzle about visas @Reality Reload
- an unannounced sci-fi co-op for @deviantgames.bsky.social
asaraviapt.wixsite.com/about
soooo pumped Dosa Divas is out - one of the first @outersloth.com funded games we signed ❤️🔥
get it NOW!!!!!
Two+ years of work by a wonderful dev team and lot of support to get to launch!
It has a free option!
I've had a good experience with CapCut!
So @farisattieh.bsky.social, who dreamt up House of Hikmah, sent this to me with a big crying emoji and it's so cool to see the game ripple through media. It does leave a glaring hole - I do really wish Western media, who control Metacritic and all that, would hold more space for non-Western stories
*cries in self-employment taxes*
that's huge!! congratulations!!
In what is a not great time for the industry it *absolutely rules* to see some mega successful indies using their platform to lift up other indies.
*cries in NDAs* but yes, a playable that shows the narrative working in tandem with gameplay? truly the best kind of writing sample!
Gonna hijack this hijack.
Andrea is spot on, but I would also add: if you have anything published/playable, please don't hide that under a bushel.
2/2
- Make sure this is accessible and easy to navigate in a website.
- Writing samples, in my opinion, are stronger when they show range rather than specialization.
