Trigger flashes, on/off states, dynamic stats, tally/counter numbers etc. to give you more info about the items' states.

you scan through the audio and keep track of how loud it is overall, then you go through the audio again and uniformly apply gain reduction if it's crazy loud

previously it did the scan+reduction with a rolling window so it continuously tried to normalize loudness throughout a video
