Stencil-style protest art painted on a white brick wall. A large black fist rises above Portland’s St. Johns Bridge, symbolizing resistance. Below, bold red block letters read: “DEFEND PORTLAND. DEFEND DEMOCRACY.” The design is gritty and urgent, like street graffiti.

There are exactly 500 days until the midterm elections on November 3, 2026. Assuming we can prevent their cancellation by a lawless president invoking the Insurrection Act . . .
A photo of Mahmoud Khalil holding up a fist and smiling wide, and holding a bouquet of flowers. He is wearing a Keffiyeh.
A photo of Mahmoud Khalil smiling and bending over a black stroller, with a baby’s small hand sticking out and grabbing Mahmoud’s finger.

After 104 days of being unjustly detained for his advocacy for Palestinian rights, Mahmoud Khalil is finally home with his wife and newborn son.
The First Amendment is not a suggestion. Mahmoud is free, and our fight for justice continues.

A customer told me she couldn't believe this store would put up a Pride display, because what if children see it??
Anyway, it was my display, and I'm proud of it, and you (and your children) should all see it. #BookSky 📚💙
I’m relieved to see Mahmoud reunited with his family and community. His detention was unjust and unconstitutional. This is not normal—we can never let it feel that way.

How to locate a loved one after an immigration arrest in the U.S.Cómo encontrar a un ser querido después de un arresto de inmigración en EE. UU.
1. Start with the Online Detainee Locator. Many people arrested by ICE can be found using ICE’s Online Detainee Locator System. You can find the Locator system at https://locator.ice.gov/odls/#/searchIt can take more than a day for someone’s name to show up in the system. People held by CBP should also show up there after 48 hours in custody.IMPORTANT: The locator only finds people if you put their name in exactly the same way it was entered by the government worker. You might need to try different versions of their name.
There are two ways to search for someone in the Locator:1. Search by using your loved one’s “A number”The “A number” starts with the letter A and has 9 numbers. You can find it on papers from immigration, like court notices or receipts for applications or on a work permit. 2. Search using the person’s name and country of birth.Note: These are general guidelines, not legal advice. For legal help, consult a lawyer.
Having a loved one arrested and detained by ICE can be scary, and finding them can sometimes be difficult.
To find where your loved one is being held, follow these steps ➡️
No matter what the courts say, we are not going anywhere. Our fight continues.

A graphic from the Transgender Law Center about the recent Supreme Court Ruling in LW v. Skrmetti. It has a background of soft mauve and blue of the trans flag and at the bottom four black people are holding hands and looking at each other flanked by trans flags. At the top is blue text that reads, "The Supreme Court has issued its ruling in LW v. Skrmetti, and while it's not the outcome we hoped for, our fight is far from over."
In the cloudy muted pink and blue background is more blue text that reads, "We are here with you, ready to fight for our communities and continue our vital work. Today, the Supreme Court issued a disappointing decision in U.S. v. Skrmetti, allowing Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth to stand for now. This moment is difficult, but it does not define us. What defines us is the courage of the six trans youth who share their stories in an amicus brief filed by Transgender Law Center and our partners. They spoke out for their right to thrive, and their voices reached the highest court in the nation."
On a muted pink and blue cloudy background is more dark blue text that states, "As our legal team, alongside our partners at ACLU and Lambda Legal, continues to review and analyze the full impact of this decision, we want to offer these resources to help ground and support our community: Get Support: translifeline.org Know your rights: transgenderlawcenter.org/resources Support our work: transgenderlawcenter.org/donate All of us, regardless of race, gender, or immigration status deserve bodily autonomy and the freedom to live as our authentic selves. We will continue to fight, together.
From our friends at Transgender Law Center: The Supreme Court has upheld Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth in U.S. v. Skrmetti.
Let’s be clear: gender-affirming care is care. Trans youth deserve safety, support, and the freedom to grow into who they are on their own terms.
