Despite riding bikes more than any of those people, unless they are competitive professionals, I just can’t relate. The spandex and the special shoes that make you walk like a lame pony…ish. Bike geeks, I do not prefer them.
Sad, and sorry to hear that. I have never been able to understand the appeal of such riding. I am a daily year round bike rider here, and I enjoy taking my time, noticing my surroundings, and interacting with it. All I can think of with that sort of business is Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
I have always enjoyed seeing how quickly Mother Earth will swallow back up all the constructs of human "civilization". All those massive cities in places in Central America and Asia, completely swallowed and covered over.

It’s really quite good, and an original recipe. Homemade cashew cream and coconut milk. I massage the kale and add it at the end along with the cilantro.

Well I made soup but didn’t eat any. I like it to sit for a day or two first, just had a nice salad with some fresh arugula and cilantro sprouts.

Same. And a good hearty lentil veg is one of my most favorite soups. And garlic bread always helps. I just had some miso ricotta for the first time last week. Wow, what flavor ! Spread on some toasted bread, soooo amazing.

I hear them every morning in the warm months when I walk. I have never thought they sound like they are saying kill deer. The other name for them here is chattering plover, which I also dislike.
