Hit the nail square there- For a game about a prinny instructor they sure just didn't really do anything with them. I guess Fuka, but she's doing her own story unrelated to Val- and Fen seemingly forgets about them after Hugo goes down. At least Etna has them every time she's around (1 and 2)

I'm playing disgaea 4 and I gotta say, the story is complete white noise until you get to chapter 7. Axel and Sardines can't carry 2/3rds of a game. 3 kinda had the same problem iirc.
