A woman on the side of the road wearing an american flag-themed cardigan holds a sign that reads 'SAVE DEMOCRACY'
After I shot this photo of Stephanie Tubbs at the #NoKings rally in Hattiesburg, I asked for her name.
She hesitated, worried about how her family would react. "No problem," I told her, "We don't have to use your name."
She paused.
"Fuck it," she said, drawing cheers from the women around her.

What about margin adjustment? My understanding is that most grocery prices are based on % margin rather than cash margin.
I don't know a lot about the produce section though, idk

I think this is relatively well known, but Dante's Inferno is a great example of this. The actual meat of the text is almost entirely takedowns of Italian elites he had beef with.

Overthrowing a billionaire-backed fascist regime requires high bar, sustained, civil disobedience. And this requires connecting people into communities and showing we are the majority, our beliefs are the common sense norm. Both things are true.

This is all so funny because I definitely remember Morty saying in class that Northwestern had data that showed yield improved when potential students visited on rainy/gloomy days.
That's just the Wildcat difference I guess lol

The loan mentioned was for the rest of the US banking sector (not SVB) to create consumer confidence & ensure that there was no cascade of bank runs. Reasonable people can disagree about whether that was necessary, but it never had any potential to "underwrite" SVB shareholders or managers.

FDIC is funded by the banks, not by tax dollars. The only cost to the taxpayer is oversight.

It's beautiful in a quiet way such that it's spirit lifting without being overwhelming. I wouldn't like to have a big gap between my mood and the vibes - makes the depression feel more isolating IMO. Big enough to disappear if you want for a while too.

After watching Eddington, I was no longer confused by the lack of art depicting the Spanish Flu.

Yeah this feels like a case of deal synergy that also is inclined to create a positive consumer surplus... More access to old media feels more good

I can't begin to express how much I hate this. I refuse to give money to my alma mater if they'll allow it to be extorted from them by the likes of Donald Trump and I will encourage other alumni to act likewise.

Hopefully the silver lining is that Oakland housing projects start penciling again - as I understand it, construction basically halted over the last couple years

Second "No Kings Day" protests likely the largest single-day political demonstration since 1970, with 4.2-7.6 million participants
Here are the initial results from our crowdsourced crowd-counting estimates
Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...
