I call on the Australian government to #RaiseTheRate of all support payments to a living wage.
This would be the single most effective way to lift the productivity, quality of life, and well-being of the whole country.

The scheme is “robbing us of fiscal space,” says Ananda-Rajah. Fiscal space. Which is the phrase you use when you mean autistic children are taking up room that submarines need.

“Australians are increasingly asking the same question: why governments ignore public interest when the majority clearly want action on cost of living, housing, healthcare, and wages?”

Well done Spain.
"The new plan, worth €7 billion, triples government investment in public housing over the next four years. It ensures that subsidised housing cannot be reclassified after a few years. It also includes help for young renters and home buyers"

Chinese car & battery company CATL now have a product which would allow a car to go from London to Barcelona on a single charge. And another that charges fully in 6.5 mins
Chinese reaping rewards from investing early & heavy in clean transition. Way ahead of the west now

Sadly, yes. The Albanese Labor Govt is a "Labor" Govt in name only. Its priorities and values are indistinguishable from the Coalition. And the goal of both is to protect the duopoly and the influence and interests of their major donors. 😔 #auspol
Big feelings tonight about #NDIS budget announcements - so many people are going to be hurt.
Thinking particularly about folks who are struggling tonight processing the news & anxious about the future.
Also furious about the escalating demonisation of disabled people.
Love & solidarity.

Butler declaring the government has to take the ‘hard’ decisions on the NDIS. Oh FFS, this isn’t hard when you have the far right lining up to hit the disabled even harder in the name of fiscal rectitude. The legacy parties need to be smashed at the next election.
ALP too scared to take on the gas industry that strips billions from our country each year; but not shy about kicking the crutches out from under hundreds of thousands of disabled Australians. So gutsy Albo.

No one left behind @australianlabor.bsky.social gives
$12b to private schools
$30,000 a minute for planet killing #FossilFuels
$205b to wealthy property owners
$55.7b on weapons
But cannot afford to safely fund people with a disability on the #NDIS
And won’t raise people out of poverty

Taking from disabled people to give to people in aged care is a cynical political exercise from Labor.
Pitting people who genuinely need care against each other while leaving $17 billion in the pockets of gas corporations they’re too cowardly to tax is shameful.
I love that they say things like 'people will be moved to services outside NDIS' as though there are actually services there for those people to access.

The Gas Industry is a social terrorist network.
Our schools, hospitals, child care, aged care, NDIS, all suffer because of these self serving arseholes.
Australian Labor Govt Health Minister Mark Butler at the National Press Club. Text: NDIS changes will cut 160,000 people from scheme
"Right now the NDIS costs too much and it's growing too fast."
– AUS Health Minister Mark Butler
Utterly disgusted that a Labor Govt Health Minister would say this.
Maybe stop paying the USA tribute in the HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS for AUKUS subs we'll never see. And invest in healthcare. #auspol #NDIS

Australian Labor Government under Albanese.
Disappointing. A super majority, and a ton of political goodwill. Under-utilised.
My feelings of resentment towards Labor are actually stronger than those towards the LNP because whilst the LNP are utter corrupt twats you kinda expect garbage from them. But Labor... FFS!! What an appalling letdown they are #auspol
No doubt many sectors and programs need to be re-structured for better efficiency and service for the end user - but cutting the NDIS under the backdrop of increasing defence spending by multiple of billions of dollars to placate the US - is shameful #npc #auspol

The U.S. pharmaceutical industry, where prices are on average 370% higher than in Australia, views the PBS as an “egregious and discriminatory” barrier to profits. Their campaign is multi-pronged and relentless.

Hiby M300 with Bose headphones. Brilliant.
Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

“Every year, Australia hands $20 billion in tax breaks to property investors – more than it spends on social housing, homelessness and rent assistance combined.
These tax breaks have helped fuel wave of property speculation that has pushed home ownership out of reach for my whole generation. ➡️
