An advert we found from 100 years ago today when we performed the Scottish premiere of Alexander Glazunov’s Piano Concerto.

The concert was conducted by Václav Talich who went on to become our Principal Conductor (1926-27) and is considered one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century!

Three meditations on death and mourning with the RSNO in Edinburgh Mozart's Requiem packs in the crowd, but it's Berg's Violin Concerto with Carolin Widmann that really finds the spiritual depth.

@rsno.bsky.social Wonderful, heartrenching performance of Mozart’s Requiem tonight. Did not expect a BSL performance but (as a non Latin speaker but fluent in BSL) it gave so much meaning and emotion to the performance. Genuinely brilliant. Thank you

Friday night was one of my favourite @rsno.bsky.social concerts in a while. The first half was a virtuoso performance from Jess Gillam playing the Scottish premiere of Anna Clyne's Glasslands. And then, BOOM! Shostakovich 8 - one of the most incredible, powerful pieces, so apt for today #bravo

RSNO & Ellie Storach: Uprising, Edinburgh review: 'spine-tingling' Climate change opera Uprising offers a message of hope in darkening times, writes David Kettle

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from The Scotsman for Uprising on Saturday night!

“Dove’s music was as viscerally powerful as it was clever… played with vigour and masses of character by a top-form RSNO under Ellie Slorach’s crisp, precise direction.”

We’ve been season ticket holders with RSNO for years. THIS WAS THE BEST CONCERT EXPERIENCE we’ve ever had, and we’ve heard some FABULOUS concerts. Standing ovations in the Usher Hall never happen. But they did tonight.

Scottish premiere of Jonathan Dove’s Uprising - a community opera on the theme of climate crisis and sustainability with the @rsno.bsky.social orchestra and chorus. Some exquisite passages of music and so impressed by the youth chorus.
