Imagine being a coder but thinking there's no artistry to writing code. What an empty existence

As an old person living in an even older person’s body, I feel you on the disagreement
You may be too old to go all out for long periods of time, but you’re also old enough to have a good sense of when you need to rest
if this 100% FPGA demo is passing for a shader, that’s probably my cue to release it. this is an early demo of my own work to replicate the 3dfx sst-1 pipeline in systemverilog. there is a non-canon geometry engine driving it from within the FPGA for kicks.
I love sharing numbers so here's a video of how much we spent to make Mythmatch.
I break it down by time, discipline, and funding source.

and for the record, I did not run away. I just suddenly remembered I had an important appointment somewhere that didn't involve staying on stage in front of an audience anymore
you suck
Oh no, I heard some AI CEO saying his model is so powerful that it might be used as a weapon! I sure hope Saddam Hussein doesn't use it to launch rockets...

I’m so not British that I’m hearing the word 「plummy」for the first time :)
I believe I have found the most annoying sound on earth, and it’s the voice of a kid with a mere six years of industry pretending he’s cool or something

Good question, not home so I can’t get the exact model, but I remember it being a Lucky Goldstar widescreen monitor I bought used in Akihabara. Dead pixels, super cheap, didn’t care. I just needed something that I could edit code on. Still no idea what GPU I have, though
Also hit me up for restaurant recommendations
16.666ms → 60Hz
12ms → 60Hz
10ms → 60Hz
Profiling in FPS is remarkably dumb
北山, very few tourists, god tier food, close to the mountains, really beautiful, super chill vibe, close to kamogawa
My genius son has worked out that you can’t use a computer without a mouse, and therefore sitting on my mouse is a great hostage taking tactic
藤原定家 is certainly relevant to my interests
Well, this sure represents a significant spiraling…
State machine extraction and diagram generation, linting, syntax highlighting, preprocessor view, autocomplete and syntax highlighting, block view generation, and a whole bunch of other super useful things I’d rather not live without
Have you heard the good news? Our lord and saviour Ado is now covering Nakamori Akina!

My dream is to create AI-cancelling headphones that can detect people around you talking about how AI is a revolutionary paradigm shift disrupting <insert dumbest thing you’ve ever heard>, and replace their words with something better. No idea how to make those headphones without using AI though
Looks interesting, and if I was a normal human doing normal human things, I’d absolutely check it out, but sadly I need the VSCode Sigasi plugin to live
That checkbox was only added a couple of months ago (Aug-2025):

not sure I understand. You can write LISP in all two respectable editors: VSCode and VS2022
interesting idea, but I would be afraid Sigasi only runs in the official one. But hey, maybe it's worth a try to see if it's possible?
additional things you 100% already checked: make sure the copilot extension is not installed, and search settings for anything with the word "chat" to make sure it's off. Surprisingly all that crap was on by default for me
wait, hang on, what are there AI popups? I haven't seen any yet, but you are filling me with dread for the future
few things in life are as depressing as a VSCode update changelog. Starting to get the feeling the team may not care about any features that don't involve the words "chat" and "model"
disclaimer: not complaining about code, its still the best Linux editor if you ignore all the AI junk
To be clear, I have spent WAY too much time programming this Easter weekend. My #C64 Ultimate tool now does a lot more - it shows sprites, toggles the different view modes, shows interrupts, reads(green)/writes(red) and VIC 2(blue) access in the memory view. Testing it on Demos now...
15 years later I finally found the last survivor in PixelJunk Shooter
Because of course the owner of a place called Chillmatic would have this on the wall…
