But that'll be more than offset by the continuing numbers turning away from top level football, ironically the lack of 3pm kickoffs being the biggest push

Fully agree with the last part, but anyone wishing to stream a top level 3pm game rather than go to a (lower/non-league) game already has that option.

The appeal of free, illegal streams vs paywalled, legal streams won't be as profound as feared. Other factors might mean it's barely noticeable

It's wishful thinking to expect removing the blackout means more games kicking off at 3pm 'because they don't need to be moved any more'.

Instead it's likely to open the door to a 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm schedule as seen in Spain eg

Fans have already become desensitised to back-to-back-to-back TV coverage.

It's easy to think games are moved to avoid the blackout but that's not the reality. It's so they can be watched in series - simply that Saturday 3pm isn't currently one of the slots.
