As a prize for reading to the end, here is part of my post surgical recovery team.

Since I already had breast cancer in the same breast, the more conservative treatment options aren’t worth the risk to me. So tomorrow, I’m having a mastectomy. At the same time, I’ll have a flap reconstruction.

I was treated, recovered, and have been fine for 14 years. In October, I had my annual mammogram, which showed an abnormal area. This was followed by a needle biopsy, then a surgical biopsy. The surgical biopsy showed Stage 0 breast cancer - DCIS.

I’ve been debating sharing this since I’ve not been very active on here lately, but I could also use a little support. In October last year. For background, in November 2012, I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer.
