Yale Report Finds Colleges Deserve Blame for Higher Education’s Problems

The national media is eating up this report as justification for perpetuating the lie that universities themselves - as opposed to decades of attacks from the far right authoritarian party - are responsible for eroding trust in higher education. You can almost hear them salivating at the chance.

The real reason Vance thinks he knows more than the pope on Catholicism is the reason he thinks he knows more than everyone in everything: the malignant effects of Yale Law School

Ahead of U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon’s scheduled appearance at a Buckley Institute event this month, University President Maurie McInnis commended the independent Yale-adjacent organization for inviting her.

McMahon is slated to speak about diversity, gender and the government’s education policies at an April 16 event hosted by the Buckley Institute, a group that brings conservative voices to campus. The secretary, a member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet, oversees a Department of Education that has canceled billions of dollars worth of federal funding grants to universities across the country.

“Buckley does an amazing job, as do many of our other student groups, of inviting leaders to come speak on consequential topics,” McInnis said in an interview on Tuesday. “I applaud that they have invited her.”

When asked if she believed the Education Department should be scrapped, she stopped short of clearly answering affirmatively or negatively.

“I don’t believe — I — the U.S. Department of Education serves many wide and diverse functions, many of which serve our students very well,” she said, mentioning Pell Grants as an example. “I certainly think that those functions are absolutely vital and need to continue,” she added, emphasizing the word “functions.”

My alma mater @yale.edu is so embarrassing. In 2024 it adopted "institutional neutrality" to not comment on political matters; that didn't stop the President from praising a right-wing group for inviting McMahon to campus, but did stop her from saying if Dept of Edu should be illegally destroyed. 🙄

"Magataotao" on Twitter writes: "I am Catholic. This👇is not my Pope."

Attached is a video of the Pope saying that we should search for peace and reject war.

A community note under their tweet says: "You are not a Catholic if you do not accept the Pope, but rather a schismatic.

Canon 751: “Schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff,” ie. the Pope.

I'm watching this show because I like it when things are small and small people get to use those things and there was barely any of that in the first episode

Watching recordings of my first bouts and my footwork is TRASH. My extremely limited MOF experience has me rocking back and forth on my toes with absolutely no grounding for my strikes. Crazy how much you can learn from seeing yourself on tape

I just really can’t get over Robert Mitchum in this. The man is a fucking demon, no human soul behind those eyes. Pure sweet unctuous menace. He gets shot and starts shrieking and bouncing around the set like Daffy Duck from Hell. I didn’t know you could get a performance like this in a film so old.
