It doesn't hash, it just downloaded, shares and validates the Blockchain. It currently takes about 650 GB. I use it to quickly sync from it to my PC where I sometimes play with the Bitcoin code which can make the database kaputt, and that way I can quickly be up to date again

TIL I could reduced my boot time by about 15 seconds by setting "Memory Context Restore" in the BIOS from Auto to Enabled. On an AMD system, TUF Gaming
B650-Plus Mainboard. The setting is somewhere under Ai Tweaker > DRAM Timing Control.
TIL that git had plenty of memory leaks, which are now fixed
