Well it’s never distinct but I mean if you have those things you can just fully fuck up your Habits of Successful People and still be successful. Like all the people who somehow ate avocado toast every week and could still afford a home!

I think that’s distinct, like “placebo optimisation”?
You don’t want to know what AuDHDs are up to today
The counter is that’s a structural problem; the labour right propelled anyone into leadership who would be a salve for the “incompetence” and “unelectability” of the labour left, and now this is where we are. Incentives are no longer the same, but the talent base is
Or is intensely habit forming and inflexible about routine I guess? Couldn’t be me
Cmon, 2026, don’t make me like The Strokes
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
I read it a while ago and it was obvious at the time that it’s not remotely how anything works. Eg I can shave 1% off my calories each day but if I eat a chocolate bar at the weekend I’m not going to change my weight
Come on in, the water’s full of discarded circuitry
VERY COOL PERSON: It's four-twenty, you know what that means?
ME: Hell yeah! [starts shoving blackbirds into a pie]
midlife by Claire Taylor I wish I could go back hold that girl in my arms & tell her sing your off-key songs the world is deaf to the pleasures of women no one's listening anyway
41 today. Woohoo.
If you’d like to help me celebrate, consider getting a copy of my book, or if you’ve read it and liked it, recommend it to a friend, or request a copy through your library. Or just go out and be kind today and try to enjoy your Monday.

Is there anyone better in the Labour Party he’s helped to shape?
I continue to be genuinely insulted that anyone expects us to buy this obvious horse shit. Just come out and say "fuck you, we wanted him and what you think doesn't matter." It's more honest.

Yeah geez weird impossible to know I guess
That’s a very old Douglas Adams punchline, sorry
I know some people will take this sort of article seriously, but at this point in history I just add a name to the “lord haw haw” column and move on and I assume everyone else does. I mean you have to have a Lord Haw Haw column or how do you know who’s first against the wall etc etc
Exactly one year ago today:
Ok this is great. Great use of the "Earth Died Screaming" sample. The Boners getting another airing
It’s what the fans are clamouring for
As an autistic person, I don't especially need people to validate my rituals, routines or special interests, so much as the feelings that drive them. My preference for things to be done a certain way comes from intense anxiety, & recognising the reality of that anxiety is the bit that matters to me.
A GENTLE REMINDER: we are trying to eliminate fossil fuels because using them kills us.
If fossil fuels were cheap (they're not) or reliable (they're SO NOT), it would still be urgent to get rid of them because their intended use destroys our life support systems.
Genuinely EXCITED for this
Wow this whole paragraph just nails it. "I'm not using the technology like a fucking LinkedIn poster, so get bent and then fuck off, I'll be better off without you" is a great energy for 2026
The 8 year podcast series? Naah, everyone does stuff like that ;)
Boots on the ground right in the middle of my Venn diagram
This is real fucking cool
@bencannon.bsky.social you are one of the lads I’m saying Holy Shit to
well, yes, a rat might have bitten your sister, but frankly, how can you say you're poor when you live in a country rich enough to visit the moon? take a look at these charts
