Blimey Bryce. There’s nonchalance. And then there’s this. What did you do this weekend? Oh, you know, read a book, watched some telly, checked out the local ICU. Look after yourself mister.

Jeez Dan, it was an errant capital. It serves the food of Mexico and its new. Perhaps even New.
For today’s @ftweekend.com I am at Cometa, a New Mexican restaurant using UK seafood (and a bit of fried chicken) and very good it is too. Have some pics.

Starmer can't resign over this. He has to hold on to resign after May 7.
Tinkle? TINKLE? I have a god forsaken, world-weary growl.
Also solidarity with anyone trying to verify their identity with Companies House. It's a bloody mess.
Whoever designed the call options system at Companies House is a monster.
Perhaps she should get on Cameo. Niche Market, mind. as to the key question we get a lot of people saying how can I learn to like x, y or z. Our final response is always: you're an adult, you don't have to like everything.
Paper Mutton?
No that was the week before
Pleased to say this week’s episode of the Kitchen Cabinet is finally up on sounds. Apologies for the delay

For anyone else wondering about this, we are working on it. Problem at the Network's end.
Ah how lovely. It’s such a great place.
God we needed some good news.

Apparently, there is still money to be made from restaurants. If you’re Richard Caring. He’s sold the Ivy Collection, Annabelle’s and Scott’s etc to an Abu Dhabi investment fund for £1.4 billion. News via propel.

That piece of information was included in my welcome pack.
Congratulations to everyone shortlisted for the Fortnum’s Food and Drink awards. My subtle way of congratulating myself (cookery writer, and as part of the marvellous the Kitchen Cabinet team in the audio category.)

Please, TV writers, stop making your lazy plots turn on the power of an omniscient AI. It makes me suspicious your script was written by a rather less than omniscient AI.
For today’s @ftweekend.com I’m at Osteria Vibrato swooning over Amaretti biscuits fresh from the oven, revelling in a ‘white courtyard’ ragu, and being transported to my youth by the smell of cigarette smoke from outside in the way many who used to smoke will recognise

Perhaps you would like to read something by my new colleague. She has quite the way with words. And food, as it happens.
FFS. That’s not how April Fools work. It’s not a thing you start a week out. And It’s meant to be, yknow, funny.
Old man continues to wave fist at clouds.

Of course they do a follow up. Please
Register my interest in this fab opening. So now I reply. It’s not a restaurant is it. Maybe a pop up. Certainly a stunt of some kind. Silence. It’s my turn for the follow up. More silence. Finally today they come back. ‘IT WAS AN APRIL FOOL’.

Rant of the day: PR companies which I don’t understand how April fools day works. I won’t name them but: a week ago I’m emailed by a pr on behalf of a company not in hospitality which is launching a restaurant. But the wording is all wrong. No opening date or address. It stinks. So I ignore 1/
Then those three cover it.
