I can't help anyone who is so indoctrinated that they really think the world is shitty because it has to be that way. It so clearly doesn't. We're not even talking about political activity in the world. We're talking a basic foundation to be able to say, this shit's not right, it could be better.

Look at this chart.
Tax cuts for the rich are a policy choice. Cutting the social safety net in exchange for them is a policy choice.
States like New York have an opportunity to help undo this trickle down nonsense by raising taxes on the rich (who will still be rich).
I hope Gov. Hochul does.
Reports indicate Elon Musk controls a secretive network of over 90 companies and entities so he can hide how he spends his money.
No wonder he wanted the Trump admin to “look into” the Corporate Transparency Act, which would have regulated those companies.
Are they also going to give the freedom to not cram 3000 people onto an aircraft carrier? Because while vaccines might seem fun and optional when you're in a puzzle palace office, it's a lot less funny when everyone gets sick at once at sea.
After seeing the aftermath of Abdul El-Sayed asking Olivia Reingold what she meant by a Jewish state, I became convinced it's a question that should be asked more often. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Also, they partner with local bookstores so they get "credit" for sales. You can pick a specific bookstore (if they've signed up) to have your purchases reflect on.
You can search for things like "women owned" "black owned" etc.

While I appreciate this man's dedication to reading ...
Good night kids! 8 children were shot to death in Mike Johnson's hometown this morning. What are odds Johnson will want to do something about gun deaths? He'll probably say he didn't see anything about it. That's pretty much the gop response to mass shootings. 8 kids are dead. We should be ashamed.
Dewey Decimal makes for strange collocations in the sacks, er, stacks.
I love my country.
I do not love the administration trying to kill 250 years of democracy.
Its my duty to be a good citizen. to show up and voice peaceful protest, to redress my elected representatives, to vote.
THIS IS MY COUNTRY. I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON IT
Reading matters
Why does fiction matter?
Because stories can sharpen the way we understand other people.
A meta-analysis found that reading fiction has a small but positive effect on social cognition. Including our ability to interpret emotions, motives, and inner lives.

People should read.
I'm tired of people not reading.
Please, if you can, PLEASE, read! Read everything, but especially fiction! Read comics!
It will help you with empathy AND make you smarter.
Please, read.
The fact there was a mass shooting with EIGHT dead today and it barely made the front page of any news site tells you everything you need to know how fucked up we are as a country. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/19/us/shreveport...
EU: The European Union will require sale of mobile phones with “user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries” starting in 2027.
The regulation demands “availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence”.
Depends on the book, on your mood, on what else is going on in your life.
Some books are to be savored, some require more thought. Some books take some time to get into & then go by in a rush.
I steal about 20 mins first thing in the am & before bed.
I also read a book “faster” on vacay.
Why are we allowing the shittiest group of people ruin everything for the rest of us?

Laura’s 7yo places books in a little free library. A pile of books remain inside the Bunch bike parked nearby
Day 19 of #30DaysOfBiking
I helped the kids clean out their bookshelves this weekend & today we rode around, dropping off about 75 books they don’t read anymore into Little Free Libraries across the neighborhood.

Basket of picked green beans in the middle of the field for workers are harvesting
"Adan" shared this photo from the Coachella CA where hes picking green beans. "I get paid 40 cents per pound. The work is exhausting - especially due to the excessive heat in the area. But this is how I support my family." #WeFeedYou
Note to my fellow Dems: The 2026 and 2028 elections will be "change" elections. But mere promises to change or talking points about change won't do the trick. Candidates need to embody change. They need to be the change we want to see. It's not about a position. It's about who they are.
I don’t think it’s just he’s avoiding the Epstein files. I think he out of this goddamn mind.
We have live in a suburban town with a local grocery that opened about 10 years ago. It doesn’t have everything but it has everything we need, and quite a bit more.
The food is fresh. The employees are friendly & most of them are from the neighborhood. Very popular place to shop!
Note to Democrats: Voters giving up Trump only to vote for the next Republican solves nothing.
The problem isn't Trump, it's the Republican party.
Don't allow Republican politicians dodge accountability by claiming it was all him.
We never had to worry about fake news until we had a fake president.
10 children were shot today in Shreveport, LA and 8 of them died. The police chief just doesn’t know how something like this could ever happen. But I think he knows exactly how something like this could happen and it has to do with the > 393 million guns in this country w/ very little regulation.
There should be a law passed, and enforced, that we will no longer have for profit prisons of any kind! Ever again! Incentivized incarceration should be a crime against humanity and should be retroactively enforced! They know what they are doing is wrong!
📌MEDIA: Stop calling Jared Kushner a "high-level negotiator." He's a damn thief operating in his repulsive family's best interests not ours.
I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the fact that corporations like Amazon, don’t pay a single cent to maintain the roads they use, the transportation system they use, the courts they use, they pay nothing for the infrastructure that is absolutely critical to their business.

It seems like a Prime Minister who continues to get his corruption trial delayed for years because his government is engaged in wars has a personal incentive to keep wars going as long as possible.
🔥SEN. @ossoff.senate.gov : “Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner’s on the Saudi payroll for $2 BILLION— as he leads 🇺🇸 diplomacy + asks sheikhs for billions more… Never have we seen so little effort to hide so much corruption. The Mar-a-Lago mafia taking corruption to spectacular new heights.”
