Woman behind me on the train announced loudly ‘i like this for us’ then laughed in a cascade. It felt gleeful and possibly romantic. She kept talking energetically. It became evident her interlocutor was a work colleague and they were discussing a new client pitch.
Fast company’s consulting debunking unit disproved the fish head meme (article sadly now behind a firewall www.fastcompany.com/37205/do-con...). Apparently fish rot from everywhere equally, particularly the guts if still there.
I spent a day looking for my writing notebook all over the house. Didn’t write. Found the notebook at 9pm by the desk where I thought it was.

we make ‘occupations’ and ‘titles’ into such a big thing often beyond the actual significance and where it hides the person (deliberately?). People are reluctant to assume them or argue about qualifications. Often more useful just labels to help others understand what you do/who you are
Thinking of variants: Are you an artist if others treat your hobby as art? are you a consultant if you only appear at conferences? are you a teacher if people share what they learned from you? Are you a researcher if you have carefully marked up notes? a sportsperson if you own the equipment?
i’m sure the answer is more complicated but a cane like a whistle can be an affectation. Perhaps they need only one.
There is the word Wortschöpfung which literally means coining a new word, so I‘ll go with Wortschöpfungsfreude.
