The real problem with #magicthegathering 's universes beyond to me is that they push the design so much on those things that the cards are simply too good to ignore and too alien to MTG to use in decks 🤷‍♂️

Most ppl could care less if you play a land with "mana crypt" writen on it or a real crypt, so.. the value is for collectors, not for gameplay. But there's a pivotal thing you gotta understand about mtg ppl: players thinks the world is coming to an end no matter what changes.

It changed. This format has almost all cards printed in its pool, you can't break what is broken for starters. This format only works 'cause people try to play balanced tables.

It was estimated a 174 mi loss of value between 3 of the cards.

Its a collectable game. You do not buy a collectable thinking it will drop to zero overnight. It. Not hoarding, a player that had a couple of these lost 200,300 another lost a bit too. One of the cards played for over 20 yrs, the other was made for the format and only works in it.

Today the RC announced they give control of the format to wotc and players are going crazy 'cause the most vocal part of them thinks wotc will harm the format. The reality is that most players never knew the format wasnt wotc's or had any of the cards.

The community reacted badly, they had an advisory group that they failed to consult and told it was'cause they were avoiding leaks, most took it like they didint listen or trusted the group and a couple resigned. Some people went as far as to threaten the life and safety of the Rules comittee

Well... there's this casual format, that was created and run by independent individuals. They decided to ban 4 cards that were expensive staples tnat wotc uses to sell theyr products, including two collections this year. It meant several millions of loss for players and stores.

The joy of cracking a chase rare has became a sour feeling. I'll sell most of my cards, proxy my decks and keep my precon collection. Use a crypt and lotus on a cube, the other crypt on can highlander.

Preciselly how I see it. And feel it. confidence was already down with the play booster thing. Draft has become expensive and awfull. Now as far as I know it, I'll draft hoping not to open one of those, as they are in last year's collections.
