Like any tool (or anything in life worth pursuing) success on SubmitHub takes effort and time 💪 Don’t let declines get to you; focus on what you can learn and refine your strategy. With persistence, you just might just get there.

Big thanks to DJ Cosmin for these wise words!

Also, if you have some blog approvals ready (yes, pitching to blogs before the release is super useful from more than just one point of view), don’t forget to mention that when pitching to editorials! 💬 It shows that you know what you're doing & that tastemakers like your song.

In short, make sure to let them know that you're building momentum ahead of the release and will continue to do so after it 📢

Pitching to editorials and wanting to actually catch the editor’s eye? 👀

Here's a pro tip: tell them about your promotion strategy! Spotify editors, in particular, love seeing a pitch where you describe your press push, advertising plans, and a pre-save campaign in action. 🧵👇

6️⃣ Ask for it. Share your video with friends, family, and your social followers, and let them know how much their comments mean to you and to the song getting out there more. Even a simple “❤️” or “🔥” from them can give your engagement a boost.

5️⃣ Leverage cards. Use YouTube cards to guide viewers to related content and pose a question about it. It’s an easy, clickable way to invite interaction.

4️⃣ Call to action. At the end of your video, remind viewers to like, comment, and subscribe. It’s simple, but it works when done consistently and in a personal (as opposed to generic) way.

3️⃣ Reply to comments. Respond to every comment with genuine interest. Better yet, ask follow-up questions to keep the conversation going – engagement breeds engagement!

1️⃣ Ask questions. Simple prompts like, “What’s your favorite track from this album?” or “Did you expect the change at 2:09?” can spark comments. Add them in your video, description, and/or comments – wherever they’ll stand out.

➡️ BE YOURSELF ⬅️

Don’t compare. Don’t get stuck in what ifs & whys. Make the music you love and connect with people who enjoy it – even if it’s just a few. If your answer to “Would I still do this even if I never got big?” is yes, then guess what? You’re already successful 💜

Anyone claiming to have the one “secret technique” to make your career explode is selling you empty promises. Be realistic, experiment with different approaches, try everything & find out what clicks for you! (It’ll most likely be a combination of talent, effort & A LOT of time).

🚨 THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR YOUR ARTIST CAREER 🚨

Releasing on less-busy-than-Fridays days could give you more attention from curators and fans alike – less releasing competition, more visibility. You'll never know unless you test it out, track the results, and find out over time.

💡 #Fridays may be the go-to release day, but that doesn’t mean they're always the best option. If you want to stand out in the crowded music world, consider experimenting with alternative days – it may actually give your release more undistracted attention.

When you click on a playlist under a curator profile, a pop-up will show more details, and you’ll see the SIMILAR PLAYLISTS button there, right under the Spotify button. Hit that, and you’ll get a list of playlists with similar vibes and the percentage of artist overlap ✔️

💡 A nifty little feature we have is our SIMILAR PLAYLISTS button – ever tried it?

If you’ve found a playlist on SubmitHub, whether by browsing the list of curators or trying our playlist checker, and it feels perfect for your tune, there’s an easy way to find more like it! 🧵👇

Plus, picking the right day – ideally 2-4 weeks before release or, if you prefer it, around release day – helps, too, especially if you avoid Fridays, when curators are swamped with new releases.

A little planning goes a long way in getting your song the attention it deserves 💡

Choosing the first batch of outlets and scheduling submissions ensures you're not sending too soon (curators rarely prefer getting a song 4 months in advance – it just lingers in their to-be-shared queue).

If your tune is set for release, getting ready & scheduling a campaign early can be a game-changer. When it's fresh, you know the most about it – its story, sound, fit – making it easier to write a good About, pick the curators & pitch effectively without last-minute scrambling.

⏳ Timing can make all the difference when sending your music to curators ⏳

Instead of rushing to submit the moment your song is released, why not try scheduling strategically? It’s not just about catching curators at the right moment – it’s about planning ahead 🗓️

📈 And lastly, if other curators in a given genre grow (get more engaged), a curator who doesn't will see their Engagement score go down 📉

2 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

The same works the other way, too – if a curator has a highly engaged playlist in one genre but shares (much) more in a smaller, less engaged playlist of a different genre, their Engagement score for the stronger genre will start to drop.

They’re relative to other curators within the same genre(s) and to where the curator is sharing as well. A curator’s score will be much higher for songs in a genre where they have a more engaged playlist, and even more so if they share there often 📊

Have you noticed that a curator's #Engagement score can change – depending on your song and even the day? Do you know why that is? 🤔

The truth is, Engagement scores aren’t fixed numbers 💡🧵👇
