Yes. For hundreds of years.
Do all you can to minimize your own contribution, even if it feels futile.
The US better only invade English speaking countries from here on out because it’ll be quite a while until someone agrees to be an interpreter for us.
I'm a retired Marine, served on the 24 MEU a decade before the Afghanistan evacuation, and know people who were involved in getting people out of Afghanistan when it collapsed. I also know a lot of people who are alive now because of the courage of interpreters in OIF/OEF and this enrages me.
the sourcing on this is hilarious, even by mirror standards ("standards")
Omaha gets a positive shout-out from Karrie Jacobs. (!)
Pure evil.
"Part of the reason the weaponization work has been difficult is that you need people who are MAGA and who are really competent," said Chad Mizelle, former chief of staff for Bondi. "Many career prosecutors are not interested in this kind of work. It's a very small group of people."

That guy owes reparations to his USAID victims’ families.
When Trump loses power, his assets should be liquidated and returned to the American people.

It also gives an opportunity to confirm we all see one another and I’m safe to cross.
"Low-income households will get [free] plug-in solar panels to cut their energy bills, the Government has announced."

"Palantir is not just a problem of profiteering from our national healthcare system— it's a fundamental threat to the democratic control of our public infrastructure + the privacy of every citizen. By giving our taxes to this company, we are aiding their operations everywhere."

Best babysitter ❤️
There’s no crying in baseball!!!! 😭
This seems not great, in conjunction with the Palantir manifesto and whatnot….
I don’t necessarily think that it’s useful for serious political figures to endeavor to fully dissolve — as opposed to regulate and constrain — corporate entities, but I’d make an exception for Palantir. It cannot coexist with liberal democracy and it openly says so
We don't know which Cabinet secretary will be forced to resign next, but we know it'll be either Brooke Rollins or Linda McMahon because they're the last two women left.
The Vera Rubin observatory has already discovered 11,000 *previously unknown* asteroids... and the proper observing sessions haven't even begun yet!

Rousseau's formulation provides a nice symmetry to Plato's highly legible numerical threshold of inequality in a just state:
"No citizen should be so rich as to be capable of buying another citizen, and none so poor that he is forced to sell himself."
Fascinating read by Saul Griffith for anyone concerned about energy security and sovereignty across the globe.

one of the greatest things you can do to evil people is seize their legacy and permanently convert it into a joke.
there is little means to recover when an entire new generation only knows your ideas as comedy and your face as a clown.
Give me the Colbert Army invading the studio to install The Colbert Report.
