Earth is round and its spinning on its own axis (this is what causes night and day) and it's circling the sun (not a perfect circle though). That's what causes the year seasons (Autumn, winter, spring, summer).

Nope, I intentionally took out systemd from my system and I'm on sysv.

No idea. I'm drawing and randomly the strokes stop working. If I click save or anything I get that dialog box. The log only says:
