6 days:

Today was the day!

We officially packed our bags with 100% of what we're going to bring.

We could have walked out and never looked back.

Less than a week remaining of closing out this chapter and then on to the next one.

Our catch phrase literally and figuratively #noroomforbullshit

7 days:

Emily and I went out to celebrate the culmination of months of work spent fighting for a work schedule that will allow us to do everything we've been dreaming of.

Late night emails, contract negotiations, work texts during dinner - it has all paid off. Now we just need to execute!

10 days:

Checking a few last little things off the list. Small optimizations. We could leave tomorrow if we had to.

It's more of a waiting game than anything else right now. Important not to rush it, but instead to enjoy our final days in Philly.

But the next phase is calling, and we're ready!

14 days:

Tonight we watched our last movie on our awesome 4K OLED 65" TV and Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 surround sound system. Selling both tomorrow. There's a lot of stupid and expensive BS we've bought over the years that I won't miss a bit, but I will genuinely miss the home theatre experience.

15 days:

So many things coming together all at the same time. I feel like the main character from "Everything Everywhere All At Once".

But on today's list of accomplishments: contract signed, another flight booked, going to stay with a friend for a few days(!), and got an MMR vaccine booster. 😪😮‍💨

20 days:

A beautiful day exploring Longwood Gardens with @emily.exploringwhatmatters.com and @jennfab.bsky.social as a reward for our efficient decluttering. Feels so good to get out into a beautiful green space with my mom and my wife 🪷

Down to the wire but rejuvenated by quality time and nature.

@jennfab.bsky.social and I took 3 trips to goodwill today ✅

Now we're off to FedEx to ship our only remaining belongings (sentimental items) to store. 🎒

26 days:

We fully packed our backpacks as if we're leaving for good. Down to the very last items - even the chapstick. Brought them to Brooklyn for the day as a test.

Full and heavy, but complete. Everything we need on our backs. Freeing in such a unique way. We could go anywhere. And we will!

27 days:

Last night we went out with our friends who are leaving Philly for Brooklyn. We'd be sad, but we're leaving too. It's fun to share a similar, parallel adventure with people you care about. The ups and downs and all the uncertainty feels less lonely. New experiences- separate, but together.
