Non-EU students in France pay in theory 10x more for university. Since some schools waive these fees and others don’t, students are fleeing universities like mine for cheaper options. Beyond the obvious ethical mess, what’s the actual "win" in making students run away @unistra.fr ?

In Italy, at the University of Verona, there is a young doctor who obtained his PhD in 2024 and in 2025 becomes a full professor. A rising star of research? Perhaps. But he was the only candidate for that job. Oh, and his father is the former president of the university.

It was only a matter of time. The Italian government has turned against the universities as well. The pretext is the @unibo.it's refusal to establish a program for army officers. U of B is being described as "the headquarters of a political party." The truth: there is no money to pay the lecturers.
