IGN is wrong. Looks like something good clickbait

18 minutes ago 0 0 0 0

Hate to break it to everyone but this IGN story is wrong.

The plot of the movie is the Minions are in Hollywood and trying to find Monsters to cast in a movie they're making.

Minions won't be finding a new leader in the 30s, Minions cannon is not changing.

It happens at the store level as well. Most products are sold at multiple dispensaries, each offer competing sales and deals. So stores struggle to build brand loyalty.

Yet more keep opening up. Its a really strange industry

Big Legal Weed is doomed by a lack of brand loyalty.

For a large segment of the consumer, they're just gonna grab whatever is recommended. Another large segment surfs the sales. A third sorts by price.

Few are heading in to specifically grab Banana Daddy or Kush and Cream Popcorn

So when you or a politician complain about that phrase, the lay person has no idea what you're saying but the advocate* does. So whats the purpose?

*Calling everyone in social services an advocate, and then pushing advocates aside, is a real tell here

a news article cliping of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson saying "Justice-Impacted"

Why advocate vs lay person?

Here is my Mayor using a similar term. The people at that facility, employees and patients, will hear that term often. If you ask them about their jobs, their experiences, they may use that term.

Its good that politicians can speak to them as well as to CEOs

Throwing Gemini into search is the weirdest Trojan horse I've ever seen.

Absolutely trash way to show off your omni-tool but the Biz Ops guy in me is screaming "holy shit, they really did get this product adopted by tens of millions"

We used "Justice Involved" at the non-profit I worked at. In our CRM, grant proposals, and certain donor reports.

It has a meaning that is relevant in certain fields. Unless you are in those fields, no one is making you use this term.

So stop complaining, the complaint is just Gender anyways.

This is a terrible time to complain about "advocacy speak"

23 hours ago 1 0 0 0

This language has positive uses in the fields that use it. In a policy paper, grant proposal, or at a workforce development non-profit.

This is just a complaint that social sciences skew left.

One more person working to censor fields under siege by MAGA and DOGE

In Scary Movie 2, Tim Curry portrays a rapey professor who traps half a dozen college students in a haunted house. He is more offensive than Chris Elliott as Butler with a Small Hand, but less offensive than David Cross in a wheelchair.

Immeasurable finesse required to pull that off

Its actually horrible he's making this kind of attack right now.

Organizations have had to remove so much language from grant proposals, websites, work output to fit Trump admin guidelines, or lose grants. "Justice Involved" has absolutely been deleted from someone's work in 2025.

Yea, he is complaining about the demographics of his coalition.

The right abandoned social sciences so the only people who used certain "advocacy speak" are potential democratic voters. They're also primarily woman.

I knew society was changing when dudes starting getting shy about using the troughs at Wrigley. The real male loneliness crisis.

The average person hears this and doesn't now what he is really talking about.

People who work in Public Health, where the term "Justice Involved" has been used in grant proposals, hear this as another attack on Public Health.

One more word to censor from proposals.

The average person hears Beshear's complaint and is confused. The initiative he is describing likely involves a workforce development non-profit. People in that field absolutely know this term.

Andy is complaining that his coalition contains non-profits and he has had to speak their language.

Politicians attacking "advocacy speak" are just mad that their coalitions contains Therapists, Social Workers, Non-Profits, Public Health, and other people in social services. The people who actually say "Justice Involved".
