God's word is not something that we have ever been able to understand right away. It's just not. So when read a passage that you think means that you can dehumanize and harm another person...well I think that speaks more about YOU than God. You just want to hurt people and are looking for excuse.

If you are taking the text literally and not constantly studying and thinking and considering different perspectives and applying it to Quran, you're doing it wrong. Sorry not sorry. If you take it literally and refuse to seek knowledge as commanded, you're doing it wrong.

Hadith is not the word of God. For those wondering, Quran is believed to be the direct word of God. But Hadith is stories TOLD BY MAN. Humans are flawed. And yes, the prophet is said to be wisest of us, but he. was. flawed. Hadith should not be taken as the absolute truth. That feels like idolatry.

I'm sorry to my fellow queer brothers and sisters in Islam but the prophet would hate you. He hates us! In hadith he talks a lot about hating gay and trans people because he thinks they're trying to be around his wives to steal them from him. Which makes no sense. But think about what hadith is.

Honestly I think this is once more about protection from crazy men who want to hurt you for being more feminine. Do I think being masc is something men should have to do? No. This is actually something I want to study further and learn more about Islamically. Now let's talk hadith.

There's a verse about men not acting or dressing as a woman, and people love using this against trans women. Well guess what trans women were always women even when they thought they were men. They are not men pretending to be a woman. You might be saying "but what about drag?"

Violent men love to hurt women. Men who are effeminate are often mocked for acting like women and violent men will attack them. This seems to me like God saying "hey let's try and protect ourselves from insane men." It's not really a great method, sorry god, but it's not about being gay.

There's a verse about not speaking in an effeminate tone towards men or those with sickness in their hearts will be tempted. I can see why if you are a bigot you might jump to gay, but I'm honestly seeing this being talked about men who might want to harm people. Let me explain:

Okay so Sodom and Gomorrah. The story talks about rape, not healthy kind and loving gay relationships, specifically male. It talks about men controlling and traumatizing other men with sexual violence. This is not a story about loving relationships. God hates rape, not "the gays."
