Spent the day smashing out concrete (oh the glamorous world of horticulture)
Spent the evening as the dedicated driver at a Gen X Bday party
Now feet up, a large dark & stormy, headphones on with a wonderful #fieldrecording based #electro #Dub masterpiece

I'm really excited about getting this out. It's some 80s acid, but done a bit differently. CD and download on @wormholeworld.bsky.social in June followed by a remix CD with some amazing remixers in August.
Ah yes! that's the one.
I loved that album but always hated the artwork!
I have the CD somewhere in a box! Must have a listen again. probably not played it this century!
Was well into this band in the late 90s.
I think there was a campaign to the album re-released a few years back? They has some proper good indie pop songs!
2026 might well be the date people use to mark the terminal phase of decline of US geo-politcal hegemony; Venezuela, Greenland and now Iran. BRICs have in place the mCBDC system with the Saudi's ready to join which moves the Gulf states out of US orbit, the US just broke the Gulf alliance. 1/2
We're in period of global change, US politcal, economic and even cultural hegemony is passing, the international system has this every century or so when an empire dies.
I think this year just marks the terminal decline stage.
So yes, too far gone I think!
"We who, in the new century have learnt not to be surprised by any new outbreak of collective bestiality, and expect every new day to prove even worse then the day just past, are considerably more sceptical about prospects for the moral education of humanity" Stefan Zweig (1942).
My Dad has a theory that Carnival Of Light will only ever be heard on the 100th anniversary of it being recorded! So if true that would be January 2067!
I, could in theory, still be alive but my Dad would be 127 by then!
Just a hunch but I think its going to sound a lot darkers and less of the hazy vibe.. I could be wrong.
It needs to reflect the world a bit.
My son wasn't even born when they last released an album and he's nearly a teenager now!

April 14 is up there with August 8 as the best electronic music holiday of the year. Some of the Aphex Twin "Avril 14th" covers to appear so far this week:

Started reading Stefan Zweig today -
The World of Yesterday: Memoires of a European.
The 1st part, 'The World of Security' about the authors youth in Vienna before WW1 feels sadly eerily prescient for our own age.
Kids are back at school today.. My wife is at work.
I'm sitting doing nothing in particular, breathing steady, with the these sounds from @quietdetails.bsky.social and @fieldswefound.bsky.social flowing through the house.

Thanks for posting I had literallhy never heard this before!
Oh I've not heard, that is good news!
By the way, i just told my wife your Wichita Lineman anecdote on Glen Campbells porch and she loves it! She is big fan of that song. Her reaction was wow, imagine if someone had managed to record that! Nowadays you could have recorded it with a smart phone, would be lovely if a recording existed.
I could totally imagine a cover of Wichita Lineman in a sort of Portishead / trip hop style, minimal and bassy?
Wouldn't that be lovely!
Oh yes, I do that from time to time if a track doesn't feel right.
It's easy to do with Drum racks in Ableton, just keep the programming and drop a whole new kit to replace.. same with Midi synths a different tone and texture on the same lines can change a track for the better.
Nice! Lali Puna is a name I haven't heard in years!
I has a fair bit of the Morr Music label back in the day. Saw them live as well around 03-05.
The wine will be flat and the curry gone cold!
Now that's exciting news
Finished mixing the new Audio Obscura album today.
Will send it for mastering tomorrow.
It's 12 tracks, almost an hour and going to be on a gatefold CD.
"Sounds like a piano, ill-prepared by John Cage falling asleep on the sofa in a chill out room, having electric dreams"
The BRICs are trying to transition without a US backlash but there comes a point when the the US$ can't support the military expenditure needed for hard power and soft power is already dead! They'll let the US cling to the Petro$ like Britain clung to the Sterling/Gold Standard in 1920s.

Also we need to get around to the business of changing our political and economic systems
Not listened to Godspeed You Black Emporer in about 20 years but I just put on the Lift Yr Skinny Fists.. album.
Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen was the most disturbing book I read in 2025.
I spoke to my Dad the other day about his memories of the Cuban Missle crisis when he was 16 years old.
Today the US president said "a whole civilisation will die tonight" - which is genocidal speech.
