Thirteen U.S. troops died trying to get these people to safety — Afghan interpreters, soldiers, and the families of our service members. Veterans spent sleepless nights during the chaotic withdrawal fighting to keep them alive. Now our own government is going to abandon them.
Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

NEW: A horrific new bill introduced by Chip Roy would weaponize immigration law to target "socialism"—defined so loosely as to include even advocacy about economic equality—so that naturalized citizens could be stripped of their citizenship and deported.

I will address this exact issue in tomorrows @thebulwark.com
The next administration must make clear that any immigrant, refugee, or asylum seeker wrongly deported, exiled, or otherwise mistreated by this administration will be readmitted with an expedited path to citizenship. Send a plane to get them.
We can't undo the damage. But we can do something.
Is that bad? Seems bad
Gonna spend the next two years spamming every elected Dem about the concept of "damnatio memoriae." Chisel his name off every inscription. Build over the various Trump Towers like they're Nero's Golden House. Remove him from physical memory, not to forget but as a sign of disrespect to the man.
Trump has shattered the safeguards inside the Justice Dept.
Former Obama ethics counsel @NormEisen says there needs to be a buffer between a President and federal law enforcement agents
I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
There is billions in confirmed fraud within the Department of Defense, yet Trump and Vought are going after health care, childcare, and nutrition assistance.
As Congress puts together the 2027 budget, we must fight back.
I am not kidding at all when I say that every Democrat with a microphone should mock JD Vance every chance they get between now and 2028. Call him weird and feckless. Laugh at his eyeliner & dumb beard. Talk about the nazis & freaks he follows on Twitter. *Brand* him.
Just calling balls and strikes
Screenshotted excerpt from linked article reading as follows: "In public, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. has cultivated a reputation for care and caution. The papers reveal a different side of him. At a critical moment for the country and the court, the papers show, he acted as a bulldozer in pushing to stop Mr. Obama’s plan to address the global climate crisis. When colleagues warned the chief justice that he was proposing an unprecedented move, he was dismissive. “I recognize that the posture of this stay request is not typical,” he wrote. But he argued that the Obama plan, which aimed to regulate coal-fired plants, was “the most expensive regulation ever imposed on the power sector,” and too big, costly and consequential for the court not to act immediately."

New York Times got receipts on John Roberts being like, 'I know this isn't how anything works, but a Democratic president is about to implement a policy!!'

Hey, I think we found the judicial activism.
Jesus. They're just replaying the whole corrupt bullshit.
DiGenova worked with Rudy Giuliani in the effort to smear Joe Biden in 2019-2020 that was tied to what Trump’s own administration called a Russian intelligence. disinformation operation.
Unbelievable corruption right in front of our faces.
The hospitality worker part is the surest sign this is true. People working in hospitality hear EVERYTHING and if you treat them like shit they'll talk.
Read that again. This Louisiana bill forces homeless people to choose between jail and "treatment"—and if they can't pay for the latter, they will be forced to perform unpaid labor.
The historical precedents are clear: convict leasing, Black Codes, debtor's prison.
Did Benny Johnson ever get around to suing milo
DoorDash Grandma isn't a paid plant. (For that, you need to be paid!) Instead, her story is far worse.
She's a depressing example of how MAGA cultists have internalized the lies that justify their own oppression.
An analysis.

7/7. It's worth dwelling on this point. It’s hard for Americans to process that their hard right politics is in large measure a Russian and Hungarian import — intellectually and also financially. We should take advantage of the defeat of Orbán to let this basic fact sink in.

When we create a state that is so focused on cruelty, we are always going to empower people like this. The cruelty is not a byproduct, it is an inevitable consequence.
Reporter: "Why are you fighting with the pope?"
Trump: "I have to do what's right…I have nothing against the pope, his brother is MAGA all the way. I like his brother…The pope made a statement, he says Iran can have a nuclear weapon."
Reporter: "He didn't say that."
BREAKING on MS NOW:
Tulsi Gabbard just referred the whistleblower whose complaint led to the first impeachment of Trump — and the Inspector General who deemed the complaint "credible" — for possible criminal prosecution by the Trump Justice Department.
Good!
“Don’t believe your lying eyes”—the Trump administration pushes a reality that doesn’t match what Americans are feeling at the pump or seeing in the courts. Meanwhile, efforts to rewrite January 6th are sparking outrage on Capitol Hill. Scott MacFarlane has it all in his evening report.
INBOX: Amid rising tendons between Trump and Pope Leo, the administration has abruptly canceled an $11 million contract with Catholic Charities to shelter and care for migrant children who enter the U.S. alone, ending a relationship dating back to the first arrivals of Cuban exiles in South Florida.
