Indie hacking 101:

1. Build an MVP that you can confidently say that it’s the best in the world at one particular task

2. Launch it fast to validate if it makes a viable business

3. Keep building to remain the best in the market despite competition

4. Distribute it to more people

How can y’all post so much on so many platforms and still manage to ship features, fix bugs, and do marketing? πŸ˜…

Sure, more people will be able to build more things that they couldn’t before. But they won’t be able to go as far and as deep with these new tech as engineers can.

In a word, there is always more complex engineering work to be done on top of any new innovation.

I don’t believe AI or any technological evolution will make engineering skill less valuable.

More than ever, when there is a technological evolution, we need more talented engineers to apply these tech to solve higher economic problems.

PS: I have a main project to focus 80% of my time on already.

While it was fun to play with new tech on the weekends, there are hundreds of developers working on similar tools right now. It will be difficult for me to catch up in features. πŸ˜…

I tried out Next.js 15 this weekend by making a small Bluesky analytics app.

My primary goal was to see how well Next.js 15 works with other tools, but the app has come along nicely, and I can add features quite easily now.

Should I continue building it or leave it here? πŸ˜„

Probably one of the first indie project for Bluesky that has some success?

We need to catch up! 😁

It has a dark mode, of course! πŸ™ˆ

I didn't build it, though; it just works out of the box thanks to Mantine's built-in dark mode. πŸ˜„

I had only one Sunday to work on this, so I could only add one feature: Follower History.

But other stats should be quite easy to add now. I'll add more next weekend or when I'm feeling lazy with my main product. πŸ˜„

Issues and PRs are welcome, of course!

Who's building Bluesky Scheduling & Analytics? πŸ˜‚

Yours, the left one is too distracting to trust

I just realized that Bluesky source code is open-source, which means the community can contribute code/features to the platform. 🀯

I've always been wanting to fix X/Twitter scheduling features. I can now just make a PR to Bluesky Github repo! 😍

Can someone summarize what are the primary differences of Bluesky vs. X/Twitter?

Particularly how can everyone get so many followers so quickly?
