We wrote a book chapter! Loved coming together with my amazing Doncaster colleagues to write something we are truly passionate about, relational practice and using appreciate inquiry to support wellbeing #edpsychs
Hey #edpsychs colleagues!
Please share far and wide for all those who might be applying for a EP training place this year.
Open event information for doctoral training courses :)
Most definitely! I’ll message you 😊
Good luck with the exciting change! It’s been 5 years now since we made the change to a group consultation service delivery model in Doncaster and the feedback from schools gets better and better every year 😊
The best advice I got from my placement supervisor was don’t pick up anything ‘extra’ til spring, that gave me time to really focus on building relationships with my schools and getting my time management right before doing any panels or LA project work for example
My second blog is out today! Aimed at aspiring/current TEPs & EPs, it is an overview of books, journals and blogs I have come across about EP practice, educational theories and current EP research :) Please share! edpsychsharespace.com/2024/08/28/w... #edpsychs
I have this one on my laptop too! It definitely got me through the more tricky TEP days
Sea view of Worms Head in South Wales
Enjoying this view for the next two weeks before starting as an NQEP in September, may be a little quiet on here until then #edpsychs

We have established a support network for Muslim Educational Psychologists, open to assistants, trainees and qualified EPs. Message if you would like to join the Muslim Educational Psychology Network (MEPN) 💚 #edpsychs
That would be really good, I think I remember hearing somewhere whilst background researching that they were going to create an Assistant rep post for the NEC soon
Thank you Pippa 😊 I’m glad you feel it resonates with your experience too. I do feel there’s work to be done around supporting qualified EPs to have these kind of interactions with assistants and hope I can be involved in that in any way I can at some level
It really does and helps to give my research context. I remember speaking to Kate, Debs and Sophie when they did their research and it encouraged me to take a qualitative grounded approach to really explore what it is like being an Assistant EP.
Ooh fantastic! I think the biggest takeaway from it is that Asst. EPs are best supported by interactions with the rest of the team that are collaborative and help them to find meaningfulness in their work. There are some ideas at the end of my appendices you may find helpful to foster these 😊
Thank you, and congratulations for passing your viva! I hope you are doing something nice to celebrate
Ah! Yes I will add it 😊
That would be amazing! I would love to read yours too if you have a link?
My thesis exploring the experiences of Assistant EPs is now available at etheses.whiterose.ac.uk/35405/ Now to work on influencing policies and practices…after a well-deserved rest! #EdPsychs
New place, new name 😊 looking forward to continuing the community #edpsychs
