30 Minute Missions Acerby Type-A 1/144 scale model kit from Bandai Namco. Kinda wanna do this one as weathering practice so she can be the much, much older sister to my 30 Minute Sisters figures.

Mars HoiHoi-San 1/1 model kit from Kotobukiya. Planning to do the most obvious customization thing with this one

Chibi CharaGumin Disgaea 2 Portable Etna non-scale resin model kit from Volks. Resin/Garage Kits are the goal; gotta start sometime, and I picked Etna here up on a sale specifically to practice on before I tackle some of the more involved ones that's been in the closet for a while

Got a couple Isekai Ryoko no Techo accessory kits to put together, but I think it's time for a break; got other series in the backlog to get started on! But which one to do first...

'Course, the REAL MVP of this build were the non-marring jeweller pliers I picked up over the weekend. My brittle old man fingers are getting too sensitive for pressing some of these teeny hinge joints and articulation parts together.

Found my collapsible photo box, too! Gotta refamiloarize myself with how to set it up, but it's already a sight better than the spray booth 😂

Isekai Ryoko no Techo no. 3: Novice Blacksmith Hailey Smith, striking a cocky pose with her right fist on her hip (or as close to it as her armor will allow) and her left hand holding the tool of her trade: a colossal blacksmith hammer.

...Struck it a little too hard, it seems. Hailey weeps over the snapped handle of her hammer, shortly before she gets to work patching it up.

All right, finally got Hailey finished!

...The stated goal for this one was to just straight-build one of these kits, but even though her outfit's simple and her accessories are pretty detailed already, Hailey could really benefit from some paint apps...🤔

I think the logic is so that you can stick some chibi-proportioned soft doll clothes on 'em if you like. Either way, those hips keep 'em comfortably out of l*li territory for me 😂

The main figure is built, but alas, I'm out of work night and have to call it here, so Hailey's gonna be naked for a bit. Not that she particularly minds, apparently...

Well, pretty much tradition at this point; Hailey's gotta go au maturale 'til I have another weeknight to build her some clothes.

Unfortunately, I'm workin' overtime 'til the weekend, so....get comfy, bud!

The label from a bottle of Me. Color Lascivus CL08, unfortunately named "Nuts White." And, even more unfortunately, almost a perfect color for it.

The inside of Mars Stock's hat. It was originally a bright yellow-orange (which you can kinda see inside the hole of the peg that holds it on her head), but I painted it purple and added some clear sparkly effect. Fun fact: did the same thing to her alternate hips. Girl needed something fancier than flat battleship-gray panties 😤

I originally chose the light green because it'd coordinate well with the light orange color that the inside of her hat's brim was originally colored, but then I went and painted it purple with some magic sparkles anyway 😅

...She's certainly more colorful, though I'm having some real second/third thoughts on the light green. Ah, well, she's done for now- on to the next one!

And that's everything painted, detailed, and (except for the staff, which I forgot about 'til about a half hour ago) topcoated! Man, I hope this looks less Easter Basket-y put together than it does on the clips. We'll find out tomorrow night!

...When I said I wasn't gonna go as ham on Mars's outfit as I did on Renee's, clearly what I meant is that I was gonna go whole hog.

In any case, that's everything primed; gonna be my first time shooting acrylics (for the pink parts)!

PR Productions' Isekai Ryoko no Techo No. 2: Novice Mage Mars Stock promotional figure. She's cute as a button, but her outfit really could use another accent color or two to break up the neutral grays. Unfortunately, the main accent color she already has is orange, which is tricky to coordinate with anything OTHER than neutral colors...

Nothing happening at work, World Events are conspiring to crush what little executive function I'm capable of, so I'm just gonna switch to autopilot and spend the rest of the work day figuring out a nice accent color for Mars Stoke's Halloween-ass outfit 'cause damn if that ain't a lot of gray.

It definitely benefits from just a little color separation!

So far, Mars has felt a lot more solidly engineered; we'll see if she holds together better once her dress is all put together.

I have the most issues when Renee's in her armor; with the gauntlets on, especially, those wrist joints will slip out with little to nothing in the way of pressure. Might try thickening the pegs on 'em up with glue 'cause I DO want to take some photos of her!

Don't think I'm gonna go as ham on custom colors for her as I did with Renee's armor, but her dress & hat accessories could use a touch more color separation...

So far, Mars feels like a definite step up from Renee in terms of build quality. Beyond the new neck joint and feet, her legs feel a lot more solidly constructed. Renee's legs pop out of the sockets or fall apart with very little adjustment, but Mars has stayed in one piece!

Mars Stock just got put together and she's already sassing me to make her some duds.

...This is becoming a habit; getting a nude adventurer put together just before I have to go to bed on a work night. I'll get her some clothes put together soon as I can!

...Relax, this ain't about to become one of THOSE blogs; just noting that Mars has toe articulation whereas Renee does not.

Mars Stock's neck joint is a separate piece from her torso plates, connected with a beefy rod to her shoulder cylinder. The previous model kit just had the ball joint for the neck as part of one of the torso plates, and apparently snaps pretty frequently. I ended up pinning it on my own Renee kit.

Oh thank goodness, they gave her a better neck joint than Renee. Still feels like I'm gonna snap the ball joint off on her, even after I pinned it!

The unboxed kit for PR Productions' Isekai Ryoko no Techo No. 2: Novice Mage Mars Stock model kit. Aside from the block of 9 stacked runners that make up the kit proper, there's a pink polybag containing various soft parts and equipment, a white polybag containing Mars' witch hat, a clear bag with three faceplates and a bag containing the polycaps. The instructions are to the right of the main runners, as are my tools.

Runners A thru I. That's a lot of flesh-tone parts; just like with Rookie Warrior Renee Brown, you first make a nude figure, then build her outfit.

One of the fun things about theelse PR Productions Isekai Ryoko no Techo kits is how they come in a big ol' stack of rinners like this!

(But seriously, they reused a mold or something; the head is removable, and it even has the same inductive charging port on the bottom as my Oral B toothbrush, despite running on AAs.)

Mr. Polisher Pro from GSI Creos. Looks a hell of a lot like a red electric toothbrush.

Item 1 on the usage & safety precautions: THIS IS NOT AN ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH.

New tool day! Mr. Hobby's Mr. Polisher Pro. Picked this up to use on some resin kits I'll be tackling in the near future.

...Y'know, now that I have it in hand, it looks an awful lot like an electric toothbrush- oh.

Now all she needs is a party to adventure with.

Fortunately....

And done! Better than expected, but still room for improvement!

The lower trim on her top snapped as soon as I got it in place, so I had to fix it as best as I could. Everything else fit together without a hitch!

I've glued and sanded Renee's chest and waist to get rid of some glaring seam lines that were running down them. Can't do the same for the hips, alas; those pieces come off and are replaced with some dark gray ones for her armored look.

Also took the opportunity to clean up Renee herself! Did some seam removal on her arms & torso, and reinforced the ball joint in her neck with a rod made from a paper clip since some folks have had problems with her neck joint snapping off...

All Renee's outfit and equipment parts have been painted! Some, like the dark gray and silver ones to the right, are completely done, but the green and brass parts get a round of hand-detailing with acrylic paints.

All right, that that's everything painted! Just gotta detail the armor and top-coat it and Renee can finally get dressed again!
