Writing is a powerful tool for processing and living with grief, and in addition to helping me cope, I share my experience as an offering for anyone else facing down a profound loss.

When my dad started getting really sick two years ago, I read as many essays as I could get my hands on by people who’d been through it. These stories helped guide me through what was was the most gut wrenching and bewildering period of my life to date.

I became obsessed with collecting vintage My Little Ponies after my dad died of leptomeningeal disease. I wrote an essay about it and it’s up on the HuffPost Personal essays section. 🦄🐎
