I remember when Google's motto was "don't be evil" and at the time it felt like they meant it. Now their mission statement is "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful" and it feels like they mean it, but in a monkey paw kind of way.

Side-by-side comparison of two Adobe plans. On the left, “Creative Cloud Pro” (current plan) priced at €63.76/month, including over 20 apps, unlimited standard generative AI features, and 4,000 monthly premium AI credits. On the right, “Creative Cloud Standard” starting at €63.51/month, offering over 20 desktop apps like Photoshop and Illustrator with basic generative AI features, and a “Select plan” button below.

So. According to Adobe the basic plan now costs more each month than it would cost me to just buy the thing, but I can get the "standard" plan if I don't need the Pro and that will save me (checks notes) 25 cents. To be fair it is a good assessment of how much those AI functions are worth to me.

Artemis II's last test: Will its heat shield work? Excess charring on Artemis I's heat shield had NASA racing to understand what went wrong—and to ensure the technology was still safe for the current crew's high-speed reentry.

I can say without hesitation that this is the HARDEST article I have ever written, but I am incredibly proud of it.

If you have questions about Orion’s heat shield, given the issues with Artemis I, I hope I can provide some answers:

I wasn't aware of the depth of this beef and my day is now better (thread)

The thing about Artemis II for me is that it's a reminder that competent people with vision and empathy are out there, doing their things now and doing it well. Sometimes the news makes me forget, gives me a distorted perception of how power is shaped and what is relevant. This gives me hope.

Technically this counts as "that time we took a photo together", and also "that time I took a photo with [insert very hot celebrity]". I'm only a bit bummed I have my eyes closed in this shot

Also, whenever a brand asks for information I always do my best to provide it. I mean, it's never the truth, but who am I to deny them a little whimsy? It's one of the many uses of my d20: filling a character sheet is fun!

My sponsored ads at the moment seem to be about cruises (ykes) aimed at families with small children (LOL) and I merrily click on the link, click on the "buy" button and then close the website. Also, luxury watches. And how to care for your 4c hair.

Everyone is talking about how to protect your data/ get off tech. But may I suggest polluting the data? Actively spend time learning about incredibly weird stuff. Have a friend who's going on a little adventure take your phone with them. If you're a man download and use a period tracker...

If you're running an event having someone in charge of PR who is an actual human and not "still you with a fake mustache and an LLM subscription" should be included in the budget. Or not. It is entertaining to witness 🤷🏻‍♀️

This to me looks like a test tun to normalize the presence of armed federal agents known for their volatility and brutality in places where showing documents is required. Who needs gerrymandering when you can scare voters into not showing up?
