An interesting thing to stew on either way! And you're quite right - "video-gamey" is far too nebulous to be used without elaboration.

I completely agree re: Pragmata! Perhaps it's more about how those things feel - ie, whether characters, world and story feel like they are built around game mechanics, vs the feeling of mechanics being derived from setting, story, etc.
"video-gamey" reads to me like it's about priorities too. The "cinematic" video game does everything it can to minimize how much disbelief you need to suspend to buy into the presence of game mechanics and systems in its world. "Video-gamey" feels like the unbothered antithesis of this.

Sincere apologies to my cat for the few seconds of hyper focused and annoying attention he's gonna get every time I die in Requiem this weekend
Code Veronica is basically an unnumbered mainline game but with RE5 as your only experience so far, I'd start with the newer stuff then go back for oldies and offshoots if you feel activated enough.
RE5 rules in many ways but if this is a Requiem prep question then the RE2 and RE4 remakes will bring you up to speed. Hell, even outside that context they're a solid place to start.
It feels like current-era Sony is too polished, self-serious and cautious to portray a Kratos problematic and unlikeable enough to have actually earned the transformation they gave him in 2018.
The protagonist of the upcoming video game, currently titled Project Windless. He is a muscular anthropomorphic chicken, facing the camera and holding a sword.
There were so many cool things shown in that State of Play but all I can think about is the buff chicken
Yeah this is categorically not preservation, it's just availability. With an asterisk.

Yes! This drum needs to be banged a lot louder.
Yes, that in abundance, plus how easy it is to get stuck on the geometry of what I assume must be a microscopic pebble on the ground and be suddenly unable to dodge your way out of a tight corner
In your defence that combat absolutely is absolutely rancid on hard mode
