(And if you think that one's a stretch, c'mon, this is the series that features Vector Prime, the OTHER ancient Autobot whose face is very much the Autobot symbol -- which certainly COULD have been designed without remembering Furman & Wildman's Last Autobot exists, but again ... c'mon ...)
(I was convinced then that most of Galaxy Force's "Convoys" were inspired a bit by Matrix-holder characters in the lore up to that point -- Magnus here, of course; Nitro Convoy/Override's head has a lot of Hot Rod design cues, and I was sure Flame Convoy/Scourge took some notes from Thunderwing.)
I remember at the time looking at that helmet and that chest and wondering what was up with Hasbro & Takara deciding to make Ultra Magnus a helicopter in this show -- which makes it weird and funny that the mold's been officially done up as two OTHER 1986 guys (Springer & Galvatron), but not him.
Me and my sister's experience with these last three flicks -- which, all three we saw in the same theater in the nearest slightly larger town -- was pretty much disappointment with Street Fighter, relief and fun with Mortal Kombat, and even GREATER disappointment with this one. Bafflingly bad.
