Wonder if thatâs higher or lower than the BBC.

Just catching up on the E3 finish
Fair enough đ
This is not a bantz-for-clicks podcast. It's not filmed â we're not creating crap TV for the sake of clipping up contrived chat for the socials. Instead we hope that, like a good wine, it has depth and legs (etc) and you can take the time to enjoy it.
Out now, wherever you get your podcasts đ§
All four eps of Velo Vino, the [checks notes] wine and cycling history podcast, are live â in which we uncork six 40-something-year-old bottles of wine made to celebrate different cyclists, drink them and talk about the stories behind them in a new mini-series for @rouleurmagazine.bsky.social đ·
For sure. Looked like MvdP was done, and in typical MvdP fashion found something from somewhere to go again in that last km. And what a shame we didnât get to explore those other permutations.
Dummy worthy of Maradona or not, they collectively and individually decided not to contest the win. They could have all been gassed, I suppose. Just really felt like the chasers just handed it to MvdP!
What a strangely frustrating watch E3 was.
All the huff and puff to close the gap, and no balls to contest the sprint.
BBC Sport continuing to cover itself in glory.
If Robinson has mistakenly said the *opposite* of what he means in the moment, fair enough. But surely one of the two (two!) #journalists working on the live feed should be saying as much underneath, rather than just repeating it wholesale?
Northern side of the Col de la Madeleine. Bit of Monty B on the horizon.
Better late than never, I suppose.
Roughly speaking
This glorious meeting of one cycling teamâs two sponsors is also a lesson that just because youâre rich, it doesnât mean you should be given a platform to spout this shite.
God Farage is a bore. He voted against improving workersâ rights. He doesnât want us to have control over our lives. He demands that we live within the stifling confines of his stale old prejudices and resentments.
Fewer rights. Less protection. More exploitation.
Thatâs his plan for the rest of us.
Use of the drone footage in the downhill is nothing short of exhilarating đ€
Shame they cut to a front-on shot right before the jump â the athletes are getting 50m+ air time every time, but you donât get a real sense of the distance theyâre travelling because of the angle.
Still. Mad bastards.

Itâs coming home, @robhatch.bsky.social.
National champs has just become the most important race of the year for every rider on their roster.
Itâs like they dipped the bottom half in the same chemicals theyâre peddling. Truly a kit fitting for the pelotonâs no-one-likes-us-we-donât-care team.
It is absolutely hilarious. And there is an argument to say his mercenary outburst actually merits his inclusion on the shortlist. Not sure playing the other side Mersey counts as âoverseasâ, though.
Exquisite timing having Salah on there just as he throws his toys out the pram. Good job itâs not judged on *actual* personality, eh?
Two pens? Nothing of note to see here.
The full transcript of Zohran Mamdani's acceptance speech is very much worth reading in full. Even if you don't agree with your politics, it's very beautifully put together.

This Vuelta a España cannot continue with Israel-Premier Tech. This calls on serious governance from the UCI. David Lappartient has always insisted he can't take political decisions that don't align with the IOC's view, but this is beyond political: it's affecting the running of the sport.

While weâre here, old son. Where are we on the use of The Memeâąïž to mark the beginning of all Grand Tours? I think Iâm actually in favour of it being kept for special occasions.
Think it was Nelson Landela Day
