Artemis II Return
NASA's Orion spacecraft carrying Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Christina Koch from NASA, along with Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen from the CSA (Canadian Space Agency), splashes down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California, at 5:07 p.m. PDT, (8:07 p.m. EDT) on Friday, April 10, 2026. The Artemis II test flight launched on Wednesday, April 1, from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida to begin its 10-day journey around the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build on our foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars. NASA’s Landing and Recovery team and the U.S. military are coordinating efforts to extract the Artemis II crew from the Orion spacecraft. Credit: NASA/Josh Valcarcel

A small grey cat trying to lick the top of a can of tea, while a human's fingers cover the opening.
Jane's not usually interested in human food but apparently oat milk oolong tea is like catnip to her?!! #CatsBeingCats

I'm one of those trans women. I worked ground ops for Artemis I.
I am torn between celebrating the success of my friends and peers and grieving how my dream of working for NASA was shattered by hateful assholes in Tallahassee

Screenshot of a tweet from Adam Nimoy. "Two crews. The same dream. Dad would have loved every second of this past week. He believed in what space exploration said about humanity: that our best instinct is to go further, together. Safe travels home, Artemis II crew. LLAP"
The screenshot includes a photo of the Artemis II crew alongside one of the Enterprise crew from the original Star Trek series.

Will a gay doing stand up comedy saying:
I started figuring out that I was genderqueer at age 9 or 10
And I found out you can get your male sims pregnant using aliens in the sims 2
I saw that once and went "let's do that again."

Several bags of Skinny Pop popcorn, Harry Potter butterbeer flavor, on a clearance shelf at my local grocery.
The ignominious clearance rack with its sad unwanted rubbish.
On the one hand, fuck Skinny Pop for partnering with the Potter brand. On the other, it's hilarious their butterbeer popcorn didn't sell and had to go on clearance #fuckjkr

A few years ago, I read an article about barbecue pits at Stonehenge. Which makes me wonder: is the world's oldest profession really pitmaster/pitmistress?

I think a lot of people tend to forget that Ake isn't human in the same way that Data, Worf, Saru, and Spock were non-humans who sat in the captain's chair. And I think Holly Hunter has done a brilliant job of building on Carol Kane's performance of the species while not imitating it.
