If I quit every time something felt a little funky, I’d probably never be in the gym.
A level of discomfort is natural.
I’m not saying to ignore what your body is telling you.
But I am saying your brain will go through great lengths to keep you trapped in your comfort zone.

This doesn’t look half bad, tbh.
I really need Nevada athletics to join Bluesky so I can get off X completely.
There isn’t much of a fitness community on Bluesky.
So, let’s make one.
Part of why obesity is such an epidemic is because of portion control.
Eat less, weigh less (eventually).
Moreover, habits are learned over time.
Teach your kids early to eat a reasonable amount.
If they’re full, don’t force them to “clean their plate”.
The upside is, it’s not terribly hot yet. So maybe we got lucky?
You know spring is here and temps are getting warmer when our AC goes out.
You can set your calendar to it.
Every. Damn. Year.
Yesterday, did my first two-a-day in what felt like forever.
(Resistance training in the morning, running after work.)
Perfect way to start the week.
My morning routine isn’t video-worthy.
I don’t wake up in a luxurious home or drive a luxury car to the gym or pointlessly spend money on high end bottled water.
But it’s my routine. And it works.
That’s the whole point.
I don’t care that Dave “retired” and then decided to do shows again.
If he still feels like doing the damn thing, he should do it.
More power to him.
Not gonna even play, I slacked off this past week with the workouts.
Kids are gone and I took the opportunity to take it easier than normal.
Back to reality starting today, though.
Had a friend make a deal with me yesterday:
He’ll do a 5K with me (he isn’t a runner) if I do power lifting with him.
So, I guess I’m adding that to the list…
I don’t think people appreciate enough just how good those first two Skid Row albums were.
45 year olds can be surprisingly athletic.
I have a goal of 15,000 steps everyday.
Before I leave for work at 7:30am, I’m typically between 7,500 and 8,000 (so around halfway).
Building an early lead is crucial.
Almost forgot how much I love working with resistance bands.
As much as I enjoy lifting heavy, the more balanced feel the bands give me just hits different.
If I could invite three people (dead or alive) over for dinner, it would be:
Epictetus
Barack Obama
Wynton Marsalis
I would just sit back and listen. The conversation would be amazing.
Obviously, Tommy taught Mahomes everything he knows.
For sure.
These past two season have been two of the most enjoyable seasons I can remember as a fan.
The worst part about the Rams losing yesterday isn’t that they lost.
It’s that the season is over.
There’s an old stoic saying that is something like we suffer more in imagination than reality.
It’s possible, the next four years won’t be as bad as we think.
Here’s to hoping.
Damn…Andrews with a very untimely drop.
People who come after players after a loss are some soft ass motherfuckers.
One team will win, one team will lose. That’s the way it goes.
For those who don’t like it, put some pads on, get out there, and do a better job.
Otherwise, shut the fuck up.
Meanwhile, in Buffalo, nobody circles the wagons like…
That was a fun season, Ramily.
Hopefully things in this country don’t get too stupid and we’ll get to enjoy another one.
Helluva season, LA. Helluva season.
Good on ya’, Philly. Game well played.
Ya know, I wouldn’t mind the Rams proving me wrong…
Just sayin’…
Whelp…that’ll do it for LA.
But, after starting 1-4, it was a fun (if not nerve wracking) season.
That’s gonna do it.
Philly is feeling it now.
Alllllllll the momentum.
