A Clamber up a huge steep gulley on the North facing Crags on Yr Eifl produced a nice patch of Bazzania trilobata (Greater Whipwort) the only appearance of this Hyperoceanic liverwort species at the site , always nice to see 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 @bbsbryology.bsky.social

My target species on Yr Eifl a couple of weeks ago was the rare Hyperoceanic species that is Campylopus setifolius (Silky Swan-neck Moss) there is an old record for it here,after two days of searching a huge expanse of North facing Crags i found one patch,still its there 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 @bbsbryology.bsky.social

The anther smut fungus Antherospora tractemae that infects Scilla verna was nice to see on Sunday at Penryhnmawer on the Llyn Peninsula, it takes over the plants reproductive organs ,the plants anthers are filled with a dark olivaceous-brown mass of spores instead of pollen.

An early 7 am vist yesterday to the Tower mustard site at Bromsberrow heath me Brian Laney and Tim Rich have been keeping habitat open with seasonally opening up bare soil areas the last few years ,various rossettes showing nicely,always good to natter along to each other as we work.
