It does. Which is hard for indie authors. But sometimes we just have to stick with what is going to get us seen.

I used to love D2D but I'm not paying an account fee.

I hope so. I emailed them directly with my thoughts on it.

Sucks that people here are anti-zon (for good reasons)

As an indie, being in other stores is hard.

I was wider for a while, but D2D introduced fees so now I'm stuck for a way to be on other sites without having 1000 accounts.

Need to do something about my website shop.

If I followed you and we've never interacted before, I use a follower bridge so either:

1) You followed me on Twitter but since forgot I exist (valid)

2) Someone with a similar name, profile pic or @ followed me and either I didn't notice you weren't them, or I did but thought you seemed cool.

They were so great for libraries for me, but I just can't take this hit financially.

Oh, I'm beyond mad and hugely disappointed. I emailed support today in the hope that they take notice, but if not I'll be leaving D2D.

I don't know what other platforms to use though. I despise IngramSpark and Amazon is easy but has so many issues.

Replying to it will automatically create a new support ticket.

I've done so, listing my complaints about this.

Let's flood their support tickets with 'don't do this'.

I wish I was clued in too! Occasionally I find gold in a community, but it's so hard when you start on a new platform.

That's cool! The pitch events are one thing I've never tried but always loved in indie communities. Maybe it's time to give it a shot.

I've loved working with Draft2Digital.

Through them, I got my books in libraries and bookshops.

It was a dream for an indie.

However, I've always said self-pub sites should be free for ALL indie authors.

And I can't continue to support a platform that doesn't believe that.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for that! I'd love to see more writing content and community spaces instead of bots and politics in my feed.

I'm glad there's still an effort out there! It'll be hard to build something up to that level but we have to try.

I thought this was a Twitter problem, but apparently all the bots are over here too and saying b e t a readers triggers them.

I will not be paying for that particular 'author service'.

I also don't charge for it.

So the good #writingcommunity stuff apparently came over to #BookSky when Twitter/X/Whatever became invested with bots and loons, right?

Does that mean #IndieApril is still alive over here?

Because it's dead on the other place and I miss that trend so badly!

My next book should be with beta readers soon!
