Normal has the framework of a solid movie. But instead of being a comedy with outstanding action, it felt like a straight action movie where the comedy felt intentionally suppressed. As a result, the story flaws were amplified and noticeable.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie was all over the place - essentially zero comedy, mediocre action & story, but 10/10 for fan service (and I'm sure I missed/didn't know half the references).

DC & Gunn are killing it on the TV side.
The Penguin was super-intense, great acting, especially in the first half of the show.
Peacemaker season 1 was top tier tv. Like the tippy top. Elite. Season 2's story missed the mark a bit IMO, but was still a lot of fun.
I enjoy so much space-based media, but I just don't care about anything NASA does.
Instead, I may have just been the only person in the USA who was instead impatiently waiting for bad UFL football.
I had no interest in The Drama as it looked like a run-of-the-mill romcom. Later, it was re-pitched as a dark comedy, so I decided to try it.
Both classifications are wrong. There is practically zero comedy to it. Also, the story is awful.

Absolutely the wrong time of the year for #CBJ to quit playing offense.
The 2nd part of today's double feature was Hoppers. Sadly, another mediocre effort from Pixar IMO.
It started well, then the I think the story just went off the rails in a very wrong direction.
Probably still very fun for the kids though.

My only semi-real complaint about Project Hail Mary is that as an MGM movie, it benefits Amazon.
Regardless, go see it. Gosling is excellent and the storytelling format worked tremendously, despite being a format I usually don't care for.

I really liked the 1st half of Train Dreams. Then the 2nd half kept introducing characters that seemed important, but they kept disappearing. Very frustrating.

A very uninspiring crop IMO. They range from "solid but unspectacular" to "yawn."
Bugonia spends nearly its entire runtime pretending to be weird.
It would have been so much better if it was ACTUALLY weird. There is a 5 minute section where I wanted to scream "Yes! This is the movie!"
Instead, another Best Picture disappointment. 6/10.
