Hi guys
I am so grateful for everyone of you. I just got out a little while ago. I am safe and okay. In an uber otw back home. I am so sorry but I am in complete shock over what happened and my phone is blowing up with calls from reporters. I need a little bit of time to process everything
I will come back soon.
But please don't worry I love you all

Thank you for your support! Every new piece of information that I find out about BAFTA and the BBC further vindicates Meghan Markle.

Ultimately, it looks like a strategic move to distract from the attention on Andrew's arrest. Prince William is the BAFTA President, so the racism tracks.

Struggling but trying to channel my frustration into a self-care book. It's been a difficult Black History Month with everything that's been going on. How are things your way?

Lenox Avenue: Midnight, an extension Here’s another early Langston Hughes poem from The Weary Blues,  his collection which I’ve chosen to focus on during this Black History Month. Given Hughes’ esteemed position as part of the Harlem …

It’s Langston Hughes’s birthday & the first day of American Black History Month. Hughes is a pioneer of Jazz Poetry.

A few years back I did this musical performance of his “Lenox Avenue Midnight,” adding my own prayer as a coda. Hear it here: frankhudson.org/2022/02/07/l...

Rep. Kelly announces plans to impeach Secretary Kristi Noem WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02) announced plans to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem following the fatal shooting by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.

I refuse to stay silent while Secretary Noem breaks the rule of law and terrorizes our communities. I am introducing Articles of Impeachment against her for violating the public trust, obstructing Congress, and self-dealing. Read my full statement: robinkelly.house.gov/media-center...

📌Just heard an interview with John Mellencamp.

Jack, in "Jack and Diane" was written as a black dude. They were an interracial couple. Thing is, the music producers didn't like that back then, so it wasn’t sold that way.
Mellencamp was asked why.

"Because America is racist as hell, that’s why ..."

The fact that Jake Paul has also scammed his own fans makes him a perfect example of this phenomenon, too.

Empathy is oftentimes learned from vulnerable populations as a survival tactic, and a lack of empathy is a trait of sociopathy which can accompany privilege.

As a member of the global majority, the term "minority" will have different implications in the next few decades and fuels racism and fear.

The premise of racism is always so interesting to me because white men have had a 400 year head start in social, political, and financial capital. If I was running in a foot race with someone who was 4 football fields behind me, and they caught up to me, who would be "inferior" in that scenario?

“The decision was made to exclude me from the filmed production of Swan Lake because I was told my brown skin would disrupt the aesthetic.” ~ Misty Copeland

When folks gripe about DEI, remind them who benefited from shutting out dancers like Copeland. That pattern runs through our whole history.

It's unfortunate that people cherry pick the Bible. In Galatians 3:28 it affirms, "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

We are all equal in the sight of God, and man has distorted the truth for personal gain.

75 years ago, my friend Ronald McNair was born.

Denied books as a child at his segregated South Carolina library, he later became the second Black American in space. And today, that library bears his name.

Happy Birthday, Ron. Your legacy continues to inspire us.
