Genuinely gutted to have double booked this with Hay. Will be attempting to get to a different venue.

Old timey not stop watch. Numbers handwritten and out of order.
Any ideas what this is? When wound it spins round with a sort of clacking noise.
Was about to suggest this too but then spotted the 40s numbers so not that. How interesting.
I also second that recommendation. 👍🏻
Yep. And vehicle safety and….
It’s actually going to make you angry (I hope) when you start reading it.

I just deleted a message saying I don’t like the fact all the digits are even. 🫣😂😂😂😂
I think everyone will think 7 is reasonable (and because people generally aim for round times) so I’d rock up at 6.50 in attempt to beat all the losers who think in evenness.*
*There is nothing remotely neurodivergent about this message.
Don’t know how accurate it is but this is what AI thinks.
Then they need a non A-Level course or an apprenticeship or a job and we need to stop sending the message to students that this isn’t ok and they all need to aim for a levels as some kind of pinnacle. See also: not all pupils need to go to uni.
Not sure setting kids up to fail is quite the brag you want it to be. The data speaks for itself. The course isn’t accessible for that level of ability pupil. If you care about students, encourage them onto courses where they have shown aptitude already. If they haven’t by 16 chances are they won’t.
I might try that with some of mine that I can’t shift.
Whack them on Twickets, there’s nothing there for that gig at the minute.
Up to 5 tickets for Lewis Capaldi in Manchester available (don't ask - I also have tickets for Leeds and we are very excited and don't need to spend the money going twice!)
Please share 🙂

Yey! Enjoy. 💚
Oh God, I’m stupid. 🫣😂
Be wary that any advice you get will be based on when Capita had it which was a total poo show. Now with Pearson I believe. @themathsbazaar.bsky.social is probably your best bet.
There’s a key at the top right. 😉
The lovely Hyde Park Picture House is incredibly special; 112 years old and the only remaining gas lit cinema in the world. I would pick it over a soulless multiplex any day of the week.
As an end of holiday treat I’ve just seen my favourite ever film on the big screen for the first time. My heart is full. 💚💛
Interesting

Full of typos!
Yeah, I’m not sure. I know people who have loved this one so it might just not be landing with me. She said she was doing the same style for book 3 too, set in the 90s.
Book 21: Elizabeth and Marilyn
👸🏻 👸🏻 👸🏻 👸🏻 👸🏻
I thought this book might be a bit of me and I was right. Quick-paced look at life in the limelight, “fiction rooted in fact” it seems historically accurate with one tiny bit of artistic licence to bring it together. This is about identity and duty. Awesome
Book 20: There is no antimemetics department
🧠
I wish I could remember which podcast I heard about this on, I would unsubscribe. First a disclaimer: sci-fi is not my genre but this to me and my untrained eye in that genre is badly written, highly confusing and I was not remotely invested to finish
Book 19: Flesh
👨 👨 👨 👨 ½
This is very much a character portrait as we follow István through his life. It’s basically about trauma and its impact on an individual’s life. Told in a detached but highly readable narrative this is very much the kind of book I love. Pacey and engaging.
