Thanks for the support for my bloated overwritten monster everyone, I am not actually concerned but it’s quite funny how much it’s grown since the original zines

Explaining this at the gates and instantly getting sent down the slide to Splatbook Hell
This is obliquely your fault for asking perfectly reasonable questions
Just checked the word count for Vaults of Vaarn 2E and it is 130,000, I am never seeing Rules Lite heaven

The omens are looking fantastic your excellency. The rivers have turned red, the traditional colour of Labour. Likewise the goat born with a man’s face symbolises the continued viablility of third way economics
I believe that now the PMs wicked advisors have been ousted, he will be free to make the great political decisions we all know he’s capable of! Don’t give up Sir Keir!
Yes there are various heresies and unorthodox interpretations of the belief system, which I don’t think the core rulebook has room to cover but I hope we’ll get to them at some point
Great question, I’d say three of them are trying to bring about the end of reality as we know it. Four are vying for domination over Vaarn, whatever that looks like. The Faa are trying to survive as a culture
Really enjoying r/ShauntheSheep
That is basically the idea! Insane and impossible but so are most of the other major faction goals
So I have to ask- Into Thin Air as in the everest disaster book? Or is there another book of that name that I can't find. Everything else I understand the influences but I'm really curious about this one
If you're interested in Vaults of Vaarn 2E and haven't already pre-ordered, I've made the latest draft of the player facing rules and PC generation free to download vaultsofvaarn.com/2026/04/14/v...
Whether this is even possible I leave up to individual GMs. As with the Children of the Darkling Sun's triumph, I've dipped into something a bit more experimental and weird to try and convey the nature of the Lithling apocalypse as I see it. A very tidy and bloodless ending
I've been a bit bloody minded on keeping them, and finally realised they believe their relentless cataloguing of the world will one day lead to its (orderly and correct) ending. The purpose of existence being to properly observe itself. So they're still an apocalyptic faction, just less obviously
Finally making progress with the Lithic Lyceum, the last outstanding major faction. I've been struggling with these guys for about a year now, because the faction as described in issue 3 has no inherent conflicts
Concept development image for LoFi Games Kenshii 2. A woman guides a small raft through old and rotten pipework in some half-flooded post-apocalyptic future city. (2019)

And they’re saying the falcon - nasty guy - cannot hear the falconer. And more and more we’re hearing that the blood-dimmed tide is loose. And we’re hearing that very strongly

Seven but im afraid it’s immune to all damage except the grappling rules
Void Saints The fingers of Urth’s empires once reached further than any now living can dream, and the jewled firmament was plied by craft of great glory and antiquity, humanity’s seed sown upon the shores of a thousand disparate worlds. Those barges that voyaged between the spheres held their own churches within their hulls, weightless congregations who doubtless had many reasons to pray. The Void Saints were the formless voices that answered those calls, although the nature of what exactly was communed with in those long journeys through the great dark overhead remains a topic of terrestial debate.
Another day another room. 13 creatures is a lot for a low level party so striking some kind of deal seems like a good bet
I think limiting the amount you can see and work on at once (while having any amount of other relevant information one click away) is a big game changer. It’s a lot less daunting to work on a leviathan when you’re only able to look at one toenail at a time
As Obsidian is currently free, you could definitely publish this as a zip of markdown files. I think making it into a website is probably the best way to go
Yes! It is rapidly becoming unpublishable in print format. But I’ve decided to lean into that and just make it a hypertext thing
